Welcome! I hear it's not an easy job. Check the 4th gen section. Lots of good people and info in there.

Welcome, leave Commiefornia. I used to live in the High Desert also. I have always had a pleasant experience with Sunland Ford in Victorville.

Yeah man I plan on getting out of here asap. just started a apprenticeship with the union so it's going to take a while to be able to leave haha.

Nice! Throw some pics up if you got em.
Didnt really take any pics dude (next time I will). did have a question, how do I remove the oil drain tube from the oil pan? Seen on a few posts about the o rings leaking so feel like I should replace it now while I'm down there. Looks like it just pulls out?

Literally. Have been there long? Been in the car scene for awhile?
Been here all my life (moved up here when I was 10 from LA) and no not really and I just stumbled on the sho, it was my mother in laws. I had a little cheesy Cruze before. Then my mother in law needed a smaller car because she got a new job 70 miles away and I needed a bigger car on account of having 2 kids haha

Makes sense. You will enjoy the SHO when you get it squared away.

It would probably be best to replace it sooner than later as well.

Would you happen to know how to remove the oil drain tube from the oil pan? Seems like it's just pushed in there so I should be able to pull it out right?

Do you mean the pickup tube/sump screen?

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new O-ring seal.
