So you're trying to say Anthony and Chris, both [email protected], are not calibrators?? Come on, of course I wasn't talking to salesmen about tuning issues.

Anthony nor Chris (if it’s the Chris I am thinking about) are Calibrators. My understanding is that there are several front office people who monitor tuning@ and act as the middle man for the calibrators. Cody is another one who also responds from tuning@

Now I can tell you from years of being an LMS customer off and on that Anthony knows his shit. He is one of the most knowledgeable guys working the front desk in my experience.

I agree with Bruce... if you need something addressed, ask for it to be escalated. Usually works.

Those are great numbers for the modification. Curious if you experienced any stutter during the dyno pulls?

I have run both the V11 and GH AOL tunes... both are very solid but very different. Excited to see where this goes?

Yes, Anthony has been there a long time and is very knowledgeable. On a couple of occasions when he was stumped he has taken issues to "the man" and gotten results for me.

I like working with Cody on sales. Recently he called me to let me know of a new tune available for my Mustang. I have used a number of vendors but rarely have I had a rep go to the trouble of calling me to share new product info. Very classy.

Excited to see what happens with this other tune. I've experienced the same issue and a few others related to shifting or TCS. Oddly, it seemed to disappear with my MSD coil install. Interstate driving, 50 to 60mph, pin It and it would fall on its face just over 5krpm. I think I have video of it. When it got to 3rd.... Buckle up
In LMS defense I contacted them and didn't really follow up myself since I'm sure for a new motor instead :-/
House rules...hold brake and tap TCS button 2x. Advance Sport Trac OFF. Helps with the PP models.

I bet your issue goes away. Mine went away with an unleashed tune and also AJPTurbo tune. Only happens with the LMS tune and seems to be noticeably worse when the temperature is below 60.

Easy fix. Get unleashed tuned. I've used alot of tunes lms ssi. The best is unleashed and Torrie is amazing at trouble shooting/being there every step of the way.

I was happy with LMS, but was way happier with Gearhead and Brew City Boost. Gearhead has the octane adjust still installed; so after a tank or two of "not really 93 like it says on the button" I was quite thankful. Also, Gearhead will have the first intercooler upgrade ready this January. The owner has a 16 SHO as his daily that he does all his testing on...his own dyno. LMD is cool and all but they dabble in everything. Matt is focused.

Matt’s been waiting on the guy doing the castings for months now :-/

I can say this, Matt is super focused on the 3.5 platform and really believes in it. He has a lot of research into the short comings and has reached out to several places attempting to get everyone to work together.

I would have no concerns running Gearhead auto octane tune or LMS and do indeed run both. LoL.

Funny you said this - I was wondering the same thing, but on the dyno it had no issues. I can only assume the rollers do not have as much friction as being on a road.

UPDATE: Gearhead has been at a convention last several days so I have not received my tune files yet - and I was supposed to have my speed shop install new 542 plugs and run the dyno test. So with no tune I had to cancel my appointment for today and my guy doesn't have time for another week. Stay tuned though...

I just had my car on an AWD Mustang Dyno with the newest LMS tune. I have the most current version: 93 V11, 3-bar, gapped plugs, Windstorm CAI, 160 thermostat. I also have Magnaflow cat-back. I've had LMS tune since about 1,000 miles. Car currently has 45,000 miles. *I've been extremely happy with LMS.* But I keep getting missed shifts between 2-3 (more often than not) and there's hesitation (minor sputtering) under WOT at highway speeds. The car is in perfect condition, very well maintained, I've overfilled (just barely) the transmission as advised, injectors been cleaned, etc. Car has a brand new PTU installed in 2017 under warranty, and all maintenance done more often then recommended. I don't know if it's the tune or the car...

BUT, we're going to find out. I'm going to install the canned Gearhead tune later this week. Same exact mods I have now but switching from LMS to Gearhead. I'm going to run the car on the same dyno after the Gearhead install and report back. And I'm going to see if the shifting issues go away.

Results on the Mustang Dyno for my 2014 SHO with PP with the mods listed above are: 333WHP & 390 WTQ

Gearhead = ....??? stay tuned.

2014 SHO Dyno LMS Tune
Could you provide us with a little more info on what you mean by missing shifts? Will it not shift at all into the next gear? Or is this something where it comes up in the rpms and bounces off of the limiter, also how often does this happen? I already have a few ideas based off of what i read but juts looking for a little more, also when was the last time you changed your plugs?

Ahhh i see that you were planning to change them that could be an issue as well as if you have traction control on it could be causing an issue preventing the car from shifting

I think there is something besides plugs going on. His plugs are probably fine, GH strongly recommends the SP-542 at .028 for their auto octane tune...

There are quite a few people apparently with this issue of the rpms bouncing off the limiter with traction control on or off.

I know it’s a concern brought up on the Facebook forums a lot as well.

Not sure what’s up.. one or two with the issue.. eh.. but several with the issue? Dunno... might be worth looking into?

LMS, my plugs are fine, not even a year old and they're gapped to whatever it was you recommend them to be, I think it was .030. But I gave the email to my speedshop guy with your recommended gap. EDIT: Only reason I'm changing plugs is bc Gearhead recommends the colder 542 plugs gap to .026-.028.
My car is "over-maintained," with oil changes, PTU, transmission, etc.
If I'm turning a corner and floor it - car acts like it goes right into Neutral! Stops accelerating and the revs go right to the limit, 8k or 9k, it's nuts! A lot of times I'll floor it from a standstill and when it's time for car to shift from 2nd into 3rd, it's like going into Neutral again, not 3rd, nothing, no acceleration and revs like mad! I will then instantly get off the throttle and throw it into Neutral as to not harm the engine or transmission.

So from some research that i have done on this subject, the best thing to do would be to lower the shift points a bit where the issue is occuring, now this does NOT happen on a huge majority of cars but we have seen a couple here and there that have this issue, on most of those cars overfilling the trans fluid a bit and turning tc off does get rid of the issue but for those still experiencing it after that we can lower where the shift point is and it will take care of that, for you or anyone else having this issue please shoot me a pm with the serial number of your tuner and i will be glad to get this adjusted for any of you!

Awesome response! Although I personally haven’t seen this issue, hats off to LMS for the quick response to this post, and offering a solution.
