Good evening to you all. I was hoping this wouldn't be my first post, but I need some insight or some advice. I picked up my new to me SHO about a month ago, slapped a 3 bar MAP sensor, K&N Drop-in, and a tune on her and off I went.
I've been attempting to pull a high 12 run at the strip for the past two weeks. 3 trips to New England Dragway have left me both disappointed and confused as to where to go from here.
Last Wednesday and Friday were the first two times I've been to the strip with the SHO. After my first pass and got my slip I was blown away with the paltry 102 trap speed. Kept smashing down the track only to find that 102/103 13.4-13.6 is where I was stuck.
Reached out to my tuner, Torrie, he has me take a log and send it over. He finds that my KR is excessively high. (+3 even 4 at some points)Recommends me to swap my plugs and make sure they are gapped correctly. I leave, buy a set of Motorcraft SP-534s ensure they are gapped to .030, and make my way back to the strip Friday. Only to find the same results.
Reached out again, was instructed to check the knock sensor wire by the airbox for chaeffing( no wire showing but is now wrapped in several layers if tape for further protection), and the gas I was using was also brought into question. Also my charge temps weren't the ideal either. It was humid and hot.

I've used the local Shell for my 423 WHP Focus ST for several years prior to my SHO so it kinda threw me off but needed to try to solve this. So, I burn through the whole tank, fill it with 93 from the Mobil station local to me(Also a gas stop I used with my high power focus), and head to the strip again tonight. 55* ambient temps, fresh plugs, fresh tank of 93, mint charge temps, and boom, 13.304.. at 104. Came home to look at the log and once again I'm back hitting +3 KR towards the end of third gear.
I'm just at a loss as to what to do from here. What I should replace, or even look for..
I have a few logs if anyone else can decipher them just unsure how to post them here.

I would check the intercooler for oil and clean as necessary. It’s a simple job, pull off the intake to intercooler hose and stick the oil dipstick in. You know the rest....
You can gather or “pool” the oil on the passenger side by jacking up the drivers side, allow some time for the fluid to transfer over and evacuate as needed.
Can you post your logs? Some members here are EXTREMELY knowledgeable at reading them and can give insight.

Just read the rest of your post...
You can attach your logs if you save them as a csv file or through drop box.

It’s been awhile since I’ve done it so there might be a new/easier way

Recommended to any SHO owner modding their ride: maintenance ALL fluids, because ALL parts work together to create the system of TT joy :) Mercon LV Transmission fluid, full synthetic engine oil, and PTU/RDU fluid at a minimum. Coolant to save your water pump.

Check all turbo piping, clean both MAP sensors and the IAT sensors. Check and clean the throttle body as well. The TB motor sometimes gives out, but it is still a rare experience. In particular, check the turbo/vacuum piping atop the manifold in proximity to the MAP sensor. They are unclamped from factory and can come loose.

As mentioned, check intercooler for oil to determine the health of the PCV system. Might need a new PCV valve/separator. Even a new purge valve. Yes, emissions makes everything messy in the process of cleaning up the environment. Oil droplets are NOT welcome in the combustion chamber. Enough crud in the intercooler and it could get pulled in.

Regarding fuel, I do not think that is the problem, although I have not looked at the logs yet. Since you have used that Shell station for so long, it's hard to imagine it being the cause. If anything it is more likely fuel pressure whether due to the LPFP, HPFP or FPCM.

Could be a carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves, you can vet this by borescoping. If there is no fuel smell on the plugs, at least not an injector issue at this point.

Are you monitoring trans temps?

Hey all. Thanks for the responses.
I bought her with 23k! Amazingly low for a 2015.
I've done the following maintenance since purchasing her:
PTU Fluid
Trans Fluid
Oil Change
Fresh tires.
I posted this post on a Facebook group and was given several ideas. First I confirmed my fuel was fine by making a new datalog config file to show me OAR. My OAR is at -.96. Once I confirmed that, I then turned to the one step colder SP542s.
I slapped them in gapped at .026, took a brief trip to Mexico and sent the log to Torrie.
I also compared my logs from previous runs. The car is a million times happier. Almost 0 KR and is adding all the timing Torrie commanded according to his last email.

I wonder how much gapping plugs to .026 helps. There's another quality tuner that recommends this setting also. LMS and Torrie still say 0.30 (I believe).
