I have a 2010 with 74k on it and ever since I have owned it I really think the shift points could have been improved in the stock tune. On normal everyday driving it seems to rev way to high before shifting. 1/8 throttle take off it will rev up to 3k then shift in all gears. Then when I get to 60mph it stays in 5th for a few seconds before shifting into 6th. I was wondering if any one elses does this or maybe I should look at a transmission flush? I have tried the stock tune, SCT, and Unleashed. All have the same effect. In my opinion it should shift smoother and at a lower RPM at these throttle inputs. Id probably average 1-2 mpg better if the shifting was not delayed.

these cars have a learning program for the transmissions that adjust based on your driving conditions on how you drive. i would put the car to the stock tune disconnect the battery to reset the computers. then just drive the way you want to have the car relearn and then put your tune on if you are constantly on the throttle the car will hold rpm more

As Ahrmadillo said there is learning logic in the computer that will adjust based on driving style. I feel like these cars seem to hold gears longer than I would think on light throttle but not excessively so. A performance tune I would expect to hold even longer unless you work with a specific tuner that will tailor for your needs.

what is the maintenance history on your SHO, boogs? Have you cleaned both MAP sensors as well the IAT sensor? Have the spark plugs been changed (SP534)? Transmission and PTU/RDU fluids? A bad MAP sensor can cause shift issues. As Ahrmadillo said, try the KAM reset first, let the SHO relearn how you drive. A TCM recalibration may be needed to clear the adaptive tables if the KAM reset is not enough, and this is done via IDS or high end scan tools.

KAM reset:

+1 here. When I first got my 2010 I thought the exact opposite and that it was always shifting way too soon on light throttle and never wanted to downshift unless I was really on the gas. I disconnected the battery and reset everything, drove it more aggressively how I wanted, and a few weeks later it was shifting much higher and staying in lower gears longer like I wanted.

Gotta echo @SilvererSHO - got my 2012 and thought it shifted early and often. Now though I'm seeing it stay up closer to 3k on normal acceleration. I changed all fluids when I got it a year and a half ago. I'll take it as a good sign - I guess it wasn't beaten by the first owner. I like the slightly higher revving personally. It always feels 'ready' to go. Besides, I don't think anyone here bought a SHO to be a mileage champ so might as well have fun with it.
