Here's an update on this car and what I plan to do moving forward:
- I hooked the car up to a computer before taking the Tunesport off and, go figure, it threw a code related to the intake sensor. After removing the Tunesport, there were no codes.
- Conducted oil and filter change.
- Changed the cabin filter. You can tell the previous owner was a smoker and the filter as long overdue a change. Luckily the smell isn't too bad and I'm currently addressing the smell with some tricks I learnt from the interwebs (baking soda, dryer sheets, etc.).
- I put the car on a lift during the oil change and inspected the undercarriage with a mechanic. He noticed the rear shocks needed to be replaced.
- The front bumper and front fenders don't line up exactly right. I think the previous owner did the aftermarket grille install and was too lazy to get everything back into place. The grille is also broken in the driver side upper corner.
- The previous owner had aftermarket front parking lights installed (again, poorly) and one of them was broken out.
- After getting the wheels and tires, I was finally able to open it up a little. The car runs very well and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of power these cars have stock.

So, here's what mods/repairs I have planned in the short term:
- First, I'm going to get the front end corrected. New grille, new OEM LED parking lights, and work with my mechanic to line everything up.
- New shocks and H&R springs.
- New spark plugs.
- Cold air induction

Now, I know most of you are thinking "why aren't you tuning?". Valid question. Because this car is higher mileage and I don't know how it was driven before me, I plan to get a few miles on the car before going with a tune. I'd also like to see the incremental changes, if any, that these modifications make to the performance of the car. However, I would like to hear any opinions/dissensions/insults etc, pertaining to this course of action.

Save your money on the cold air intake... At least till you get more done to the car. I'm not convinced it makes enough of a difference for the money spent

The front bumper and fender not lining up exactly is most likely from bad design from Ford. There's a plastic clip that's supposed to keep the bumper in place with the fender. But most of the time once the bumper is removed, that clip doesn't seem to hold everything in perfect alignment anymore.

I would also recommend buying a tuner instead of CAI. Unless you're just wanting a CAI for the sound change, a tuner is going to be a much better use of money to gain power.

X2 and 3 on the tune over intake.

Nice improvements so far. Glad the car is getting some love. What kind of wheels are those?
