Just bought 2010 SHO

Wow. I joined this site yesterday thinking it would be months before I got a SHO. Instead, I bought a 2010 with 90k miles at a wholesale auction (probably a repo). It will get a post sale inspection by Adesa but there is still many unknowns about the car.

Any recommendations for when I take possession of the car? Anything particular that I should inspect for? It looks good, but you never know.

Congratulations! Looks like it has some exterior mods like the front grill and are the calipers painted or are there covers on them? What size and kind of wheels and tires are sporting there? Run your VIN on Ford ETIS and see how it's equipped. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do If it says axle ratio 3.16 then it would be have the PP.

Looked it up and it is a non-PP.

I'm trying to figure out the brand of the wheels. The car is actually on 3 regular wheels and a donut so I'll have to either match the remaining wheels or get a new set.

Agreed, I would too. But if I sold my car, I would also remove the tune and sell the tuner separate (since it's known mods don't really increase a cars value).

I can't help you there.

Ask Ford to check for you? Dealerships can't/won't on a routine basis. Or buy all the different tuners available for the SHO and play Russian Roulette?

OR check for a 3 bar MAP sensor on top of the intake manifold. Not always done, but if it's there, the SHO is tuned at this time.

I believe that this was covered on Facebook this weekend as well. There is no way to "find out" if it has (had) a tune on it. You would have to attempt to load an aftermarket tune the car, and receive an error.

Go figure, those wheels (Helo he834) are discontinued and difficult to track down. So I most likely need to replace.

I prefer the OEM wheels but I'm not finding a source of these (new or used) that are less expensive than a new set of aftermarket 20's. Suggestions?

If no, then who has a style recommendation for aftermarket wheels?

Best way to tell if it has a tune is to press the gas pedal. If it gets to 60 in 4.5 seconds it's tuned lol

Personally I would replace those wheels... Rather have steelies than those..

I have not, but have heard they are reputable, and communicate well.
