So, is there a Batman Symbol I can shine into the air, or what?

Thanks for the reply. Mine still don't after the engine goes off. Maybe I'll try a battery "unplug" just for giggles.

Btw, I did a full tank on 87. No problems, though the power and responsiveness difference was obvious. I switched back to some Shell 93, and it felt like I got a tune :)

This is my first Direct Injection car. From inside the cabin, it is quiet. Car runs great.

But at idle, if you approach the front grill where sound escapes, it has got a ticky, diesel sound.

That what others hear in theirs?

Take the appearance cover off if you really want to enjoy it some more ;)

Lol, thanks. I can remember back in 2011 hearing a Ford tech call the noises from the SHO engines, "downright offensive."

I also got about 1/2 second of CLACK-CLACK on cold startup. A search reveals much discussion on the subject, though I assumed it was just a dry engine while the oil pressure built. Is that the consensus?

Correct, 1/2 second could just be the startup of a dry engine. If it lengthens over time, there may be a timing chain and/or a phaser issue. Using the Motorcraft FL500s oil filter keeps the noise minimized for most folks, due to the location of the anti-drainback valve (ADBV) facilitating quicker oil flow at startup.

OK, thanks for that. Yes, I've read post where folks have complained about the noise for 2 to 5 seconds. Mine in no way is that long. One half second at most.

I've heard something similar and other vehicles, and I always assumed it was just from a dry start up before oil pressure was built. my wife Dodge Durango did the same thing

Thought I'd update in case anyone else ever has the auto high beam issue.

The dealer fixed with a reset/reprogram of the auto high beam module. Fixed under warranty, obviously.

My auto high beams stay on as well. As for octane I think the use of top tier gas is more important than the octane you run. Obviously with a custom tune you may have to use 93. I run with 87 from Mobil most of the time. About every 3rd of 4th tankful I'll spring for 93 especially if I am in the mood for some spirited driving.
