At least they are being proactive, so there's the silver lining :) But yeah, delay sucks!

That's true, they did an alignment, changed the plugs, found out the break booster needed to be replaced (I was wondering why the car had crappy brakes), and now this leak :(

At least my car will be in tip top shape when I get it back, and maybe I'll get a tune by then..

If you want it to go away altogether, you can replace it with the Lincoln MKS equivalent part, they don't have the noisemaker thingy on the pipe.

That was my original plan... But I was afraid to hear the part cost.
We will see how the three dollar fix holds up.

Very noticable difference...
I'm not sure if all of these seal as poorly as mine, but WOW!
No more of that surge feeling going up ramps or low rpm acceleration.

Well worth the time and low price.

P.S. Called Ford and Lincoln, the part from the Flex and MKS is $186!!!!!!!!
happen to have the part number?

So what did you use to cap that off? Just a rubber pipe cap from a hardware store? What size was it?

It is a 1-1/2" ribbed rubber pipe cap from the plumbing section at Lowes.
If you've ever pulled that part off your car, it has a 1-1/4" hole and bumps up to about 1-1/2".
I cut the small end off to get to the 1-1/2" opening. I used a Dremel to grind off the two ribs to make it perfectly round and scuff the surface for the best grab.

Cutting and grinding on a newish expensive car feels strange!

So is that stupid noise maker the reason my car stumbles/runs like crap first 1-2 minutes of the day?

I finally got mine tinted. Looks so much better. I'm on a replacement wheel hunt right now.

Btw, I'm thinking about blacking out the chrome trim around the front grille what is the preferred method other than plasti-dip. That stuff discolors after a while.
