On 93 we typically see 275-290 stock...post tuning you will be in the 345-365 range. That is when you want to add in the tstat, 3BAR MAP and DP...just ask Rich LOL.
That is when the REAL FUN starts! I actually saw that FMC is almost giving SHO's away! I placed the bug in the ol GF's ear that we should turn one of our cars in early and get a new 2015 PP! The only bummer is that I want dark side w/tan interior not black :mecry:

What would that translate into Crank HP? Everyone throws around Crank HP like with all the new cars that come out. I know the SHO is 365 Crank and since I've installed your tune I'm wondering the ballpark crank I might be at...?

That's impressive.
The 160 thermostat intrigues me. Is it just lower engine soak temperature creates cooler air into the turbos and manifold?

I know it would not be pretty, but has anyone experimented with covering the intake surfaces with a Dyna-Mat type material and heat shield the turbos?

Maybe a coupla NACA ducts if heat is such a thief.

I do believe the strategy with the cooler TStat & tune is to have the fans come on sooner and stay on for longer, thus reducing wear and tear on the fans along with keeping the system cooler overall.

Yes, I have the insulation wrap (household heat duct insulation) people are using in the CAI boxes on my intake pipes...only a couple inch strip placed to stop radiant heat from the engine to the plastic piping...shhh

We use it as inexpensive insurance mostly. The stock unit is 178°, but Ford does all of their power testing at 140° coolant temp. So, we are also using the 160°tstat to get you as close to that temp range as we can without you losing heat or anything. The tstat has the fans come on sooner and stay on longer. Which reduces wear on the fans along with keeping the entire system cooler.

So the question i have is this. I get a tune accounting for the tstat. But i dont have one. THe fans come on earlier like you say. The old one has a higher operating range. So if you the fans come on earlier and stay on longer, shouldnt it still be in a safe range? What is going to be the difference in how the part behaves? Just curious to know if it has been tried and to what success!

Pretty sure the flow rate and it opening earlier helps keep the temps down. Instead of it opening at 178*, it's open at 160*. I barely notice a difference in everyday driving (coolant temp is displayed on torque at all times), but it does help on the big end. 1/4 mile pulls I'm down 10-15* with the 160* tstat.
