Hi Everyone,

so ive always wanted to pick up an SHO ever since Ford started making them again. I recently found what appears to be quite the steal on one, the link to Autotrader is below for the car.

i will be using this car for daily driving and sitting in traffic down here in Austin I will probably put about 24k a year on it.

so I am wondering how reliable these SHO's are for longevity as i expect to put mine through quite a lot of use and it will see 24-30k miles a year for another 3 years or so.

oh and what kind of real MPG does everyone get?

Your listing says it's been sold? Did you pull the trigger or did someone else beat you to it???

I'm new to mine as well, it's only been about a month. But I've been averaging 21-23 here in Denver. When driving like an *******, about 17. But this is a stock 2010. Tune is on it's way and I've been told that should increase a bit.

Highly recommend the SHO :) loving it!

yeah literally the post was up all day and just went down like an hour ago, im afraid they sold it but i am definitely calling tomorrow to make sure.

it was a 2011 black on black, with 30k miles they were asking 21k for it!

Definitely a better deal then I got! 2010 SHO w/ PP for 22k but mine already has 58k on it :\

I wasn't even looking at cars, let alone SHO's, but I just needed to dump my truck on a dealer lol... it was going out in a bad way, and they gave me 9k for it.

The dealer mentioned the SHO, and I immediately said no, i mean im 6'2 230.... didn't think I'd fit! Sat it in, test drove it, on the highway asked if I could get on it. Fell in love <3 lol

With regular servicing (as in the owner's manual) + a PTU fluid change thrown in every 30-50K, the SHO should be pretty reliable. If you drive it hard everyday, then I'd shorten the intervals (read severe duty), and include a plug change at least every 30K, no matter the eternal life promised by platinum/iridium plugs. Hoses/clamps on the turbo piping should periodically be checked for tightness. May need to put aftermarket pads/rotors on depending on how the factory brakes perform.

Look over the TSBs if you run into problems before taking the car into a dealer. Sometimes they have to be reminded to look for these solutions.

If you can, get a CPO/Ford extended warranty.

I also put lots of miles on mine. Bought CPO with 64K April '12 now has 96K. No breakdown/reliability issues ever. Some PM of course. I get 24-25mpg using 93 octane with avg hwy speed round 79mph. Really great ride.

Your link works but it points to a 2011 PP for $26K. Not sure if you know but you can view the window stickers using this link You can then substitute the VIN for the car you're interested in to see the Monroney as it came from Ford.

Before buying my car I used this to compare about a dozen different cars and even went so far as to input their data into an Excel spreadsheet so I could easily compare them.

Good luck with whichever SHO you end up with!

It's not showing as sold for me... weird. Maybe they thought they had a buyer but it fell through?

Yeah they thought they had a buyer and it fell through. I can still get it for 21k even though it says 26k.

Still debating on it, i need to cancel the extended warranty on mu current car before i trade in.

After having previously owned a 2011 PP SHO and now a 2014 PP SHO, I suggest you pay a little extra and get a 2013 or newer model. The improvements in braking are nothing short of remarkable. 2013+ models also have torque vectoring and a bunch of other improvements that make the car feel much more buttoned down and responsive.

One of my local Ford dealers is selling new 2014 SHOs, loaded included the performance package, for $35,315. I realize that's a bit more money, but its a 3 year newer, significantly improved car.

Go and make the deal... Brake up grade to power stop is 300 Bucks.
I payed 22300.00 for mine with a 2009 Crown Vic Police Trade in (4500)
trade value.. and that included Tax... Half price for a Loaded SHO, with
Break in miles... DO a GOOD look at the car fax and get it done....

What is the "power stop" brake upgrade?

Feff

Yes, what is this? I want to look into upgrading the brakes on my 2010 non PP. I was amazed I was able to get mine with only 18k miles for 23k out the door a few months ago.

I picked up a 2011 Tuxedo Black SHO PP last month for $21k. This car is a blast to drive. I will be upgrading the brakes soon and possibly new exhaust one day.
