Interest in a big meet? I'm happy to host; I've got plenty of room for people/cars and a lake for cooling off. Looking at possibly having a boat by then as well. Could make a two-day thing for anyone wanting to crash in the house or camp, there's plenty of room to camp at my place or Coldwater Lake park is only a mile away.

Been quite awhile since we've had a big meet. So what say you? Come to mid-Michigan for Labor Day?

Sure, I'm in.

Edit: just saw Jayro posted that Auto Interests is having an OTD at Gingerman that weekend too: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=123242

I might do just the Saturday clockwise OTD then head up to your place that night or the next morning?

Or they have onsite camping at the racetrack for cheap. Along with showers and stuff. Maybe it could be a SHO meet and drive. Or just a meet, you dont have to drive to attend.

Or, people could attend one of GingerMan's regular OTD days for $75 and enjoy Labor Day weekend at my place free of charge

Offer stands. Not trying to compete with anyone. Been awhile since there was a big old-fashioned car meet in this neck of the woods with BBQ and just plain-and-simple hanging out, and I've got plenty of room and lots of activities for a nice, big partae, rain or shine. If folks would rather hit Gman that's cool, or if anyone else would like to host a meet, please speak up :) Just offering folks what I've got. Great Lakes used to be a happening place; would be nice to have at least one more big meet around these parts.

Yes, but those are weekdays and it's a 3hr drive, so I would need to take time off work for that, which I don't really have. I'm sure there will be other Gingerman track days though, so I'm not committing to doing that one.

I'm actually willing to host a meet too if it's a more centralized location for people? I have a grill and patio, plus there's kart2kart about an 45 mins north of me or the Henry Ford about 10 mins away if people missed it at the Dearborn Convention (although I guess their display has been completely revamped since then). Not trying to steal the meet from ya Chris, but I haven't offered up my place yet and have been meaning to.

No prob Josh. I've got a ton of room so I thought I'd offer up the space, plus the campgrounds nearby. Give people a chance to get out of the city. It's a bit of a drive but hey, room for yard games, bonfires, starry skies, and hopefully by then I'll have my slotcar track set up in the big garage :naughty:

I'm a good 2 hours northeast of GingerMan. I-196 north to 131, then another hour north/northeast of GR. Find Mt. Pleasant on a map and head 10 miles west. Figure a little over 2 hours from the Detroit area, 3 hours from Ft. Wayne.

I don't mind the drive either. Plus you do have more space and a fire pit. Whatever people wanna do is fine by me.

I am still planning on being at Gingerman for the weekend. Too bad it falls on the same one.

Yeah, I'm still considering Gingerman. Plus there'ws a BBQ/party at the Angermeiers on the same day.

Probably will do none of the above. Work "might" be starting by then.

If not, I'll probably do Gingerman on Saturday......

Here's a thought--since most people have Monday off anyway, we could have a meet on Sunday, with any early-birders wanting to camp coming out on Saturday. That way, G-man is open on Saturday, and if anyone wants to make a bigger weekend out of it, swing 2 hrs north from GingerMan to my place after the racing on Saturday.

This could be applied to other locales for a Sunday meet as well. I still offer my venue to host, so folks can get out of the city :)

Well, funds are getting tight, and a trip to your place is about the least-expensive solution (although I would love to do Gingerman!).

If work doesn't fire up by then, it doesn't matter which day at this point.
