Alright guys, I have my SHO together. The Quarter Horse is in, BE is working like it should, everything is GOOD TO GO. I just don't know where to start on getting this thing started. I've already played with the MAF Curve, based off of what Phoenix Posted (For the VMP MAF)..... Now I just need to get the rest of it in so I can start it.

I know I need to set the Injector Slops and the cranking pulsewidth...(anything else?)...to get it started, but I don't really want to screw that up.

The specs are...

Low Compression 3.2 - 9.1
255 LPH Fuel Pump
SHOnut FPR
VMP MAF
SHOshop 47lb Injectors.
Vortech V-2 (S-Trim/SQ)

I'm at a loss when it comes to setting Injector slopes and the like....

I just want to get it started and make sure everything is good to go.

And NO, I do NOT have a Wideband in the car yet. There is a reason for that but I won't get in to it.

Note that , these MAF voltages are a base (its the base Josh sent me). Meaning you can still play with it.

I would like to help but im pretty much clueless with tuning.

What about 89SHOMAN666, isn't he like the master at tuning forced induction SHO's? He has more than a few of them. :nut:

I do not know the slopes of the SS injectors.
These are my current cranking pulse widths for 48# accells

I don't know how much diff the flows will be with yours but maybe it will get your started. FYI my high slope is 48 and low is 59.5 @39psi relative.

More than likely, those numbers will be no good for Sam. The only way you can correctly run the slopes you have, you would need to adjust the offset for the injectors (which you would have already done). Until he has close numbers to start with, the cranking pulswidth is just a shot in the dark.

Once you get it to start, watch your stock O2's at idle. They'll tell you how close/far you are. I gave you some advice on your FB page.

Is he actually tuning them? I know he buys the cars already built.

I saw the white car last summer and it idled like a champ. I know James was having issues with the tuning when he first got it.

Sam: The best advice I can give you is to read some of these articles and just try starting it. You wont blow anything up just idling around and playing with slopes and such. I literally just spent hours in the car seeing what certain changes did on my data logs.

Well, I plugged in Marcel's injector PW for ***** and giggles and changed the injector slopes to 50 high / 60 low. The car will start and run for a few seconds...albeit kind of roughly...then suddenly die. As I was putting everything away to try again tomorrow, I realized I left the giant vacuum hose at the back /pass side of the intake off when I was installing the computer. OOPS! I'll play with it some more tomorrow.

I see you have a shonut reg did you adjust the fuel pressure? If the pressure is high your numbers will be off as well.

Your going to need to adjust your setting for the neutral idle air would be my guess as well as the decay rate once you get it going. Your SC is drawing more power than your making at idle.

I should also note that the car will stay running if I keep goosing the throttle...It will start up fine...then want to die unless I keep just goosing the throttle. Makes me wonder if I screwed up the MAF inputs.

Just search idle and its second from the bottom. The Find button is your friend.
Sounds like its just not getting enough air to over come the extra load added.

It was something else all together, but I figured it out. Car starts up very easily (Like a stock SHO) and Idles PERFECT (at stock idle). Sounds good while giving it a few revs too. So tempting to drive it!

The numbers I was trying to use for the MAF were in KG/HR. I was tired and annoyed last night and didn't really notice it. Today when I opened it up and had a good look at it, I noticed that mine puts it in in LB/MIN. So I took the values I had for this MAF and converted them all to LB/MIN, Fired right up.

Things like that happen when one is tired after wrenching on something for a while. Glad you got it figured out. Would be nice to take a ride in that sometime. :dribble:
