Tail lights shouldn't be a major ordeal unless the wiring has changed due to them being LEDs now. As for the front end parts, I'm sure the front fascia would need to be changed to accomodate the grilles, upper and lower, as the front end looks to appear to have a major freshening up.

I seen the '13 taurus at the Detroit auto show on sunday, and to me, it would not be worth anybody with a '10 and up Taurus to trade that for the new one, unless you wanted the EcoBoost 4cyl. The only differences I see for the interior is that on the non SHO taurus the paddle shifters have been replaced with a +- switch on the gear shifter. The SHO paddle shifters are revised. They are thinner and made of harder thermoset plastic and the left hand one is for downshift and the right hand paddle is for upshifting. The MKS changes are more dramatic and if I were choosing between the two, I would go with the MKS. They all get the new style steering wheel like the new escape. All Tauruses have new wheels, the interior switches are trimmed in chrome, and my touch is an option. The way it looks to me, the tail lights may actually fit our current cars, and if someone actually wanted to go through the trouble, the grill and bumper cover looks like it would be a direct replacement. The little fender grilles are bigger on the '13 than the '10 so I don't think they will fit. I have pics and as soon as someone shows me how to post them on this site I will. On another note, the Fusion, Escape, and MKX are all awesome vehicles and I believe they will fly off the lot as soon as they go on sale in the spring. The MKX is the star of the show and both that and the Fusion is almost the size of the 2000-2007 Taurus and the Escape is almost the size of the older Explorers.

Tail lights shouldn't be a major ordeal unless the wiring has changed due to them being LEDs now.

The corners of the taillamps that are mounted to the trunk have tighter radii for 2013 and won't fit in the 2010 trunk stamping. You would need a '13 trunk. I would say it's pretty safe to say the wiring would need to change for the lower draw of the LEDs too, as you referred to. The housing in the qrt panels should be the same though.

Fusion was on rotating platform in Tuxedo Black, and the ones they had on the floor were locked. It does look like an Aston Martin in the front, a direct ripoff to be exact. In person, abut the size of a 2000-2007 Taurus with a similar layout. Seats are very nice. I was told the price of the Fusion and Escape should hold to what the prices are for the '12's and should be in dealers by early March.
View attachment 1110Escape exterior and nice interior. Not even comparable to the current Escape. Both have 2 EcoBoost 4 cyl. engines as options. Seats are very comfortable and upscale, even on the base model. Fusion seats should be the same and the interior between the two are close.

MKS in silver and MKX on platform. The MKX is the slickest Ford I have ever seen in person. The Tail lights are sick and so is the interior.

Thanks for the clear up Typhoon. I hadn't studied the rear tail lights that closely yet but your pics were perfect. Yup, alot of work indeed to make them work. Out of all the improvements, the main thing I would LOVE to have is the SHO seats. Those look awesome!! Can't say I want to jump now on the 2013 as bad as before, perhaps the 2014 will get that horsepower bump and some better styled wheels. Thanks for the pics guys.

Wheels might look better on a dark colored car. Would not have them on white.

While I do not like the wheels I did notice a theme.

LED tail lights look tacky to me, just my opinion. I realize they are more visible and I thought they were the cats meow, but now it just seems like a gimmick to me. Also the bright white LED's they are putting on the fronts of audi's and mercedes now are really ricey looking and distracting. Those cars already turn head, putting bright lights on them is just try-hard in my opinion.

I think you are definitely in the minority with your opinions. Ever see an Audi R8 coming at you down the road? If you don't like the leds on those headlights, then you must be crazy. I personally love led tails. They look great, brighter than incandescent bulbs, and last much longer. Leds are the future.

I will agree the led headlights are starting to get played out, but I like them on Audis. They use better led's and space them out more than other manufacturers.

Call me crazy then. Like I said, its just my opinion. I think the R8 is a great car, its just that I'm not into the whole gimmicky bright lights, switchblade keys, spinner rims, heads up display movement. Led lights are the equivilent of euro/altezza lights in 00. If other people are, more power to them. It just ain't my "thang"

I also like how Audi incorporates the amber front turn signals in the eyebrow lights. At least they're that way on the R6.
