SO the genius before my family owned this car decided to remove the compressor(bypass pully) and cut a/c lines and remove the condensor (thing infront of radiator right?) and i was wondering because there is another transmission cooler (maybe ps) infront of the radiator how i go about doing those two jobs.
For the compressor am i going to have to pull the lower rad. hose?
for the condessor do i have to pull the front bumper cover off?:thankyou:

To remove the compressor, I removed the front motor mount as well. I believe I removed the starter and the coolant bottle just to give me better access, to give more light from above, and to see better from above what interferences were present.

To do the compressor you do not work from beneath. You do not need to remove the motor mount. You should remove the battery, battery tray and then the alternator. Removing it from the top is the best.

As for the condensor, the best way is by removing the fan, radiator and then pulling it out from the engine bay side. You do not need to take the bumper off. Or you can do like I did and cut off those stupid brackets off of the core support with a sawzall and then make you own when you reinstall the new condensor. If you decide to do it that way you do not need to remove the radiator. It just comes out from between the bumper and radiator. If you take it out from the engine bay side you do not need to remove the tranny cooler but if you do it from the front with new brackets you must remove it.

It should work but make sure the connections are on the upper passenger side of the condensor (looking as if the condensor was installed.) I believe they are the same though.

Take alternator out and its supporting bracket. You talking abt mtx or atx? With alternator and its bracket out, the compressor should come out without to much problem. If your sho has that engine support piston thingy in front, that comes out to. Then the condeser which is held by two bolts behind the radiator. You have to take radiator out to.

You said your's was already removed? Makes easier. Trying to see if you can get the radiator out first, then the rest will be easier. If your trying to get A/C working, best you replace both lines, orific tube, and dryer to. Especially if there exposed.

I was able to replace my condenser without removing the rad. Unbolt the 2 upper rad supports and remove the rad fan. carefully pick the rad up a few inches while pulling it out from the top, and position the 2 post in the bottom of the rad so that they are behind the lower rad support. Then, very carefully pull the top part of the rad back and slide the condenser in from the top.

Extreme care must be exercised when inserting the condenser for 2 reasons.
1. Make damn sure you don't booger up the condensor fins. You should be able to literally just slide it in, do not force.

2. Don't reef on the rad too hard because you will be putting stress on the end tanks, ideally any flex or movement should be in the upper and lower rad hoses, so keep that in mind when you are moving it around.

If you have the time, just drain the coolant and pull the rad... removing the 2 bottom supports for the condenser also sounds like an awesome idea.
