Try and start the car with starting fluid . Verify your not getting fuel . Also I worked on a sho that wouldn't start on it's own . Got it started with the starting fluid and bam .. Fired up on it's own after that go figure .

It started and ran for 2 seconds with starting fluid, then puddled in the runners and blew up in my intake and blew off the crossover tube. lol

....sigh... you dont need to fill the intake up with half the can . Its perfectly safe to verify no fuel with starting fluid on a SHO as long as you use it sparingly. Ive done many times with not a single problem, never had it puddle ever .

So its def a blockage in the line or not getting proper power to the pump. Take a meter to the pump and see how much voltage your getting at it.

Because zack was spraying 100 shot worth of starting fluid into the intake and starting it ? it takes half a second or fluid to see if it starts for a second.

Half a second of spray is enough , 3 seconds maybe not. Like I said ive done it on a sho MANY times and never had a problem.

Starting fluid is essentially ether.......utilizing it can do damage to rings and other things if even for just a few seconds.

Ether has an extremely low boiling point and can its a solvent for oils/lubrication elements, hence why you'll typically see top ring land issues and cylinder wall scoring if you hammer the motor with it.

If you're getting pressure at the rail (have you hooked up a gauge to verify?), it sounds like your injector are not firing.

How are the fuses for your ECU? I would check that and the grounds associated with it.

Let me know...I had a similar issue with a MKIII VW jetta...it was the fuel pump relay, NOT the injectors themselves being "clogged" as so many Vw Vortex "guru's" had told me.

Electrical issues are the culprit, I am 99% confident.

If u prime the pump 4-5 times , and press the scrader valve and it doesn't spray the hood you aren't getting enough pressure at the rail . You check the couplers at the rail t make sure something didn't clog it when you had them off last ?

OK update. The reason i didnt have fuel at the rails was because the fuel lines where on backwards. i had the fuel line connected to the return line banjo bolt. well thats all fixed and now i have fuel coming out of the shrader valve but its very low pressure. i grounded the fuel pump to where it would constantly prime and even after letting it prime for 30 seconds fuel only bubbles out of the valve. i have no leaks in the system. pretty sure at least. thoughts?

no start. NEED MOAR FUEL PRESSURE STAT!

People just start naming off shit on why id have no fuel pressure. the pump was good before the motor died.

Get a meter and check voltage at the pump. If you are not getting the correct voltage then it's something in the electric that is supplying the pump. If it is getting the correct voltage then you know it's something in the fuel system. What kind of pressure do you have if you take the line off the rails. Start working your way from the rails back. If it's low pressure all the way them replace the pump. You need to start eliminating elements in the system. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

I'm dropping in my rebuilt 3.2 tomorrow....hope this isn't a sign of what I have coming.

See i guess i would be considered a newb when it comes to this. where are the wires to the pump where i can test them with a multimeter.. second would hooking up a 12v power source to the pump clarify anything for me?
