Looking to find out if anybody has done this?

If you've ever put down down a window on a Gen 3 you'll will know why I'm asking. It is literally 4 times the speed as a Gen 2 window motor. I'm gonna try it, figured I would ask before I try.

well... as far as wiring goes... as long as you figure out which one goes to what (think the colors are different)... and that the tracks meet up... it might be possible.

It's only two wires it can't be that hard to figure out. I think there will be other issues involved but who knows they may just bolt up.

I doubt they bolt right up (it's never that easy) but I suppose it can't hurt to try.

i have a motor and it cannot work unless you can physically remplace the gear that connect to the window track they have the same bolt pattern and the same connector

but the gear are way smaller then the one we have on our car

If the gear is smaller thats probably the reason why the Gen 3 windows go up so much faster.

Um, a smaller driving gear results in a lower speed, unless you increase motor RPM to compensate.

The front motors in a Gen 2 can be removed with nothing but a long screwdriver (you know, those prybars with the funny flat tips on the end) and an 8mm socket/wrench.

lol. It's not hard to remove them at all. Rivets can be popped out or drilled out. The wiring is the easier part. There seems to be no difference in bolt pattern between the two. I think the only difference is the rpm and gear which probably can be compensated for somehow. That is as much as I have figured out. Just figure if I'm gonna do the motors do them with a better unit.

Did you do... did they work?
Will they fit on a Gen. 1?
I need new window motors as well.

Gen 3s only used rivets in some very early '96s. The rest use three bolts with 10mm heads.
