I cut off my ebrake cable so it doesnt work anymore and now my ebrake light is on all the time. how do i make this thing turn off?

push the e brake pedal back up. It has probably fallen down since there is no brake cable to hold tension on it. You could always take the bezel apart, and take the bulb out...

Disconnect the wire at the e-brake switch; it's a single wire.

Don't remove the bulb, as it's also a warning light for low brake fluid.

How about fixing your emergency brake... you know, in case you need it for an emergency.

I concur. The parking brake cables are not very expensive to replace.

I'm trying to think of an emergency where it would be a good idea to press our ratcheting, locking parking brake down...nothing yet.

As far as I'm concerned, foot pedal = parking brake. Hand lever = emergency brake (and even then, gotta be pretty cool-headed to use one effectively in an actual emergency).

However, I do agree that the best course of action to fix a broken parking brake is to fix the broken parking brake.

So what you using to park the car. Also; you can't park on a hill now. Yes I know you can use the transmission to keep the car from rolling and the curbs. But you still need something to lock the wheels

Yeah fix the e brake before you park on ANY hills. I'm sure there are a few members here who can post pictures of what happens to mtx cars with non working ebrakes in parking situations, nvm a real emergency. Granted they're all PARKING brakes, but they do work well to stop a car (not fast, but better than nothing) in emergency sitations.
