Zach what your failing to see is that your trying to dump this car after spending this much, and you've just about got it reliable...

As for the DSM...See my wreck thread...
And the WRX on basic maintenance alone will eat a hole, especially as how you're going to drive it... I see the messages from your local buddies on Facebook... Again, peer pressure's a ***** man!

Let me explain... I've done the exact thing... and regretted it to this day. So Really take a good hard look at your reasons man.
My SHO is parked because I can't afford a P/S rack yet... but then I have a LOT more claims on my check each week too

Zach, if you didn't beat on your car, shit wouldn't break.

You didn't need an aftermarket clutch and flywheel either, stock would have done just fine. If I had spent $1600 on a clutch/flywheel/transmission setup, there damn well better be a Quaife in there.

And you say you're looking at DSMs, WRXs, and M3s? I think you're trolling.

Here we are convincing you to keep your SHO. Why, because you have more money in it, than you will probably get out of it.

But if you really want to sell it, go ahead. We really won't care. Just keep the money, and don't jump into another money/time pit of a project car. Please, for your sake.

Good gawd Zach. A BMW M3??? REALLY?!?!?! You already mentioned that insurance costs will factor into your decision, and you're looking at freakin M3's and WRX's? A SHO should cost you peanuts compared to those.

You really need to think about what you want vs. what you can afford. I want a Corvette Z06, but I'm not about to take out a loan to buy one.

I think he should sell it and go deeply into debt. It's the American Way.

It's the SHO way! :)

Going from faulty memory, I recall 3.2 quarts. Only putting in 3.1 will spell DISASTER!! ;)

I use my old useless-for-brakes vacuum bleeder to suck out the fluid from the fill hole. I get out near 3 qts, then I add 3 quarts. Sometimes it overflow, sometimes not. Good enough for me.

Guess I got lucky then or more likely still had an extra .1 left in that didn't drain out. Good thing I didn't put only 3.05 in. :laugh_ti:

o and the for the record i dont beat the snot out of my sho like people think... maybe 2 or 3 times a week will it ever see 7000 rpm. and since the transmission install i have only broke the tires loose once... otherwise its not daily driven and is driven mostly highway miles every weekend... between 200 and 300 highway miles every weekend.

well i might keep it then. maybe...

My advise would be if you like the sho (whick u say u do) then keep it. You are about 95% to having a reliable sho. After you get there your would be car payment will be fun money. Car payments SUCK! You get tired of the car long before the payments are over.

I dropped alot into my sho on the maintinance end, but now it revs to 7k (and sometimes 8k) all day without any worries. As far as the clicking ect, have you welded your strut rod caps. Go through and check all the torque specs on all the suspension and subframe bold. I know someone that was hunting a clicking forever and it ended up that one of the nuts on his sway bar endlink was loose.

Free advise....take it or leave it

I've broken the tires loose maybe 3 times in 2 years.. don't burn out around corners... thats rice... But really.. You need to keep it. Like all have said, you've poured money into this thing and replaced about every part that you can that is a common fail point on these cars.. You need to find a local pick and pull that has a SHO once and a while and go to town on it till you have some spare parts.. Youll kick yourself when you get into an eclipse because a) the SHO is faster b) its more reliable c) its cheaper to keep on the road.. Your just getting bored and want a new toy, i get it. But you don't need a payment.. I bought a 748 a few months ago and am making payments.. and boy, when im not riding it, i regret it because its just moeny i could be using for other things.. Full coverage insurance is a ***** and not worth it.. Just take it from people who have made the mistake... Stick with you paid for car, and fix little things as they break... Its not our fault, or the cars that youve dumped so much into it... Instead of just fixing it you went above and beyond with useless parts that you really dont need... You could have repaired everything for WELL under half of what you really paid for eveything.. Like ive said MANY times to you, you do not take our advise when we try and help you.. I know your going to sell it and by some other PITA and get ****** and post whore another thread and **** them off when they try and help you.. Your a good kid, but you need to just nut up and fix your shit the right way instead of hiding behind something else.. Ive made that mistake and i wont make it again!

Just sell the damn car already so we dont have to hear you cry anymore. If you cant handle it, then just give it to someone who can. Old cars constantly need tinkering, doesent matter what it is. You think the grass is greener.. Its all the same shit!

But you dont take it.. The pounding in the rear could be a lot.. have you checked all your bushings? Strut rod? control arm? or something little like the spoiler or rear deck lid.. Ticking could be from the motor its self...

I'm just puzzled as to why anybody cares what this guy does?

As sad as it is, it's entertaining. :angelnot:

i only plan to finance for a year at the most... ill put 2000 down. and finance the rest. im currently looking at a red eclipse gst. 98 model, red, nice rims, but pretty much a stock turboed 4g63
you're gonna have a helluva time finding somebody willing to finance a 12 year old car to somebody under 18 with shit for a credit history. unless your idea of a lender is somebody charging you a 100% interest rate every month.

i have checked the controll arms, bias valve, sway bar, and has new endlinks, struts, strutmounts. but that just crossed my mind about the spoiler. ill check it. umm the clicking could it be the motor shifting from a bad motor mount

Possibly butterflies, unplug the electrical connectore by the black canister on the back of the intake, noisy injector?
