Well, maybe not. Anyone interested in getting together in June? The silver car is just about ready to go. Actually Gene and I are racing to see who can get their beater done first. We've got at least 4 cars between the 2 of us, maybe we can have our own SHO show. :)

Vaccum gauge, electrical crimp kit, volt meter and some impulse shopping. I love that place! I'm about to tackle a 60k on my S/C car. Things will go swimmingly well and I'll be ready for the meet. Im the hopefull cheery type. Wish me luck!!!

Still alive and kicking here too.

But that frickin' TBird SC just blew it's head gaskets so we are now officially poor....... Put enough into it that we have to fix it now.

No ferry trips for us.

Good luck. The Langley Princess Auto is about 10 minutes from my house. I get a fix quite regularly. ;)

Sorry to hear about the SC Coupe. Are you needing a replacement block?

I can't even begin to do the repairs on my own. Not my area of expertise.

The estimate came back at $6200.......

The mechanic says if you fix the top end, the bottom might go soon after.

So there is $3600 for a long block in that figure. $800 for a harmonic balancer, etc.

And we've spent probably $3,000 on the car since buying it. Just had the A/C upgraded for $700. Got those nice Cobra brakes, etc.

Brent is distraught.

I suppose just doing the top end is an option. I just don't know.....

OUCH!

I have a buddy in Ontario who's close to parting out an S/C. Want me to ask about the engine? Have you considered dropping a 5.0 in there? What do the guys in the T-Bird S/C world say about repairing those V6 engines?

Don't give up hope yet...

Nobody wants to touch the engine. A 5.0 is an option but it takes away from the SC idea.

Maybe inquire about then engine if you could?

The TBird SC boys call it an expensive proposition.

I'm getting the mechanic to quote me just the top end. Maybe get it fixed and baby it and then sell it? I dunno.....

Doug,

Get those quotes, but hang tight and don't agree to any of them yet.

There is a local machine shop that knows the 3.8L SC in/out.

How much will it cost to tow the Bird over to the mainland?
