So i'm planning on doing some much needed maintenance to my 95 with my wife's taxes. looking at valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires, coil pack, and some suspension work.

Now...VC gaskets are a given...getting one of the coils that Racer X and the other guy are rambling along about in the other thread, goin with basic motorcraft plugs...but what the **** wires should I gather? I'm seeing like 30 different kinds (exaggeration), and i'm totally confuzzled on what I should get. I'm leaning more towards reliability rather than picking up that extra horsepower or two, and I'd prefer to buy from SHOsource so I can limit the places I'm buying parts from. So..which ones?

Up to date , I tried the cheap ass ones from RCM , no problems , and the 8.2mm taylor from shosource , same deal - works like a charm.

I think you would probably be fine with whatever the cheapest set is. I'm fairly certain that SHOSource would not be around long if they sold stuff that didn't work...

Edit: It appears ShoSource is employing some sneaky pricing schemes... hey, taylor thundervolt wires for $47.99! But oh, if you want them for a SHO, that'll be $51 more!

Anyway, once you get over that, it turns out that the 8mm Taylors and the Accels are the same price. Frankly, I would avoid Accel like the f***ing plague so I'd go with the Taylor wires. And, you get to choose black, red or blue!

i have been running cheapo autozone wires for about two years now, they were 8mm when i bought them and i was kinda surprised, no problems at all plus the lifetime warranty is a plus, but IIRC they have to be ordered.

I'm not sure what coil pack you're talking about, but if you're on a budget and the one you have works, why replace it?

AC Delco wires here.

I've been running the taylor wires for about 3 yrs with no issues. I would recommend them.

Not to thread jack, but did you notice a difference with the Iridium plugs? I used to run them in the SRT4...[/QUOTE

feel same as Platinums. The big difference is from the old plugs electrode being burnt to nill. When SHO did not want to rev past 6K, I put them in next day. Now she revs past 7K +++

A while back i actualy went to pep boys and orderd every set of wires and when they all came in i broughtt with me the biggest baddest voltage/ohm meter with me and tested all the wires all first hand. here are my results
(all are per 12 inches of wire) (remember less is more)

MSD: 8.5: 45 Ohms (have to order boots seperate and have to puth them together)

Taylor 8.2MIL: 50 Ohms

Taylor 8.0: 500 Ohms

Accel Super Stocks 8MIL: 500 Ohms

AcDelco 7MIL or 8MIL: 600 Ohms (The 8 are not actualy bigger they just have more insulation)

Motor Craft 7MIL : 1,250 Ohms (OE Wires)

House Brand 7 MIL : 10,000 Ohms (BWS I Belive)

But as for life time i have no idea but i hope this helps you a bit in your wire buying.

Fewer Ohms is better. Less energy lost in the wires, meaning more delivered to the spark plugs.
