Nice job excellent fitment. Gonna sell kits?

Yes, this is repeatable and will be available in several different configurations from a BYOT (Bring Your Own Tuning) Kit to a complete, ready to run kit.

Rustier,...no, I don't think so.

Thanks, my piping guy is the best in the business. A real craftsman.

What Turbo? and how much of a "lag" do you feel??

It's making boost by about 2500rpm and is all in by 3500. The turbo is a Garrett GT2876. So it's the small frame T3 with the big guts in it. Oddly enough, this one is out of exhaust housing by 6000rpm. It makes the same hp and tq after 6k with 10lbs of boost or 18lbs of boost.

For those that have a stock style setup, this kit should be fine with the .63 housing. For those with more motor and more power, the bigger housing will let it make more power up stairs.

Tim, WHAT are you talkin about! THATS Not Rusty! lol

Very nice job Doug! Looks to be a perfect set-up for a front wheel drive SHO! Now maybe 1st & 2nd gear are not just a 'spin fest'! Yea?
-& is it a problem driving in the rain with that intake filter back there?

I've got the filter in the back corner and it shouldn't see too much driving water. Plus, that's what the filter sock is on there for. Water cant get thru it.

I kinda like what happens under full throttle upshifts. With your foot on the floor, it holds you back in the seat. When you lift to shift, all the boost goes away and when you let the clutch back out, you're not hitting the drivetrain with all the torque. Once you get the clutch all the way out, then the turbo comes back to life (0.5 sec or so). I kinda like it. Drivetrain parts should last a long time.

The only other remote-turbo SHO shredded 3rd gear....

Doug, point the guy to the hd gearset GB, he is going to need it.

Looks very nice, great fitament, well thought out. Too bad the guy did not have a cleaner SHO to start out with. Then again, you find one real nice and clean, and it makes you want to leave it mostly unmolested.

Post of the dyno sheets when you get a chance.

And, if the guy is anywhere near me (I am an hour from Joplin), have him shoot me a PM/email, I would love to shoot the breeze with another turbo SHO owner.

Dyno numbers are stupid.

RegierDyno 0001

Lower set of numbers are done at 10psi. The high numbers are 18psi.

is the crank or wheel HP?

what compression ratio?

can you explain why the engine falls so sharply after 5000 rpm?

It's a smallish turbo... They tend to run out of steam when you wring out a high revving motor.

That's the power and torque to the wheels. The picture is the car sitting on the dyno.

The compression ratio is 9:1 with forged pistons.

The power falls off because the exhaust simply can't get thru the housing. To make more power, it'll need a bigger exhaust housing, but that will effect drivablity and delay the power.

I just can't see myself putting a turbo under my car. I wouldn't want to come out the store and have a missing turbo! :nut:

You wouldn't look suspicous to a police officer, or anyone else for that matter when you're on your back trying to fix a muffler in broad daylight on an old car! :munch:
