I mean, its interesting in the fact that it looks totally stock. But I dont think there is anything here that hasn't been done before.

Naw, I don't think I am going to. :p
Its like the RWD SHO...it doesn't exist.

I have $100 that no one outside of the Florida SHO people will ever see that car in person.

Doug, what MAF are you using?

It is a slot type MAF, but a MAF is a MAF is a MAF. The point is that you have to tune the car to the MAF. Some MAF's drift, so the setup might work today, but when the weather changes, it starts to get stupid.

I shoud have been more specific. Who is the manufacturer of the maf?

Did you have to make some tweaks to the stock xfer function? How many kg/h does it support? Is it a MAF that is intended for the increased intake temps of a boosted system? Why is the tune 'getting stupid' when the weather changes? Never heard of that problem with a MAF system.

Not sure we can even see anything! I see the turbo where the driver side muffler would be. With a remote setup, not sure you would even bother with an IC. I will be honest, I was quite excited to see this car when I heard about it, but the spoiler rather soured me! At least it is a white GEN I, the fastest SHO's on the planet are all white GEN I's!!

it's a PLX Slot Type MAF and reads a little higher than a GT-500 MAF. As it turns out, I didn't need that much MAF as I'm only topping out at a little over 4v. Any MAF you use as a blow-thru has to be tuned. This one is no different.

Pro-M MAF's are like Holley carbs. You have to fiddle with them all the time. C&L MAF's are about the same.

**** said something about this car a few months ago while it was being built. Hidden turbo with pipes coming thru the air box, I think I remember him saying this car is from somewhere in the midwest, could be wrong though.

Great work Doug, you've churned out yet another awesome project. I'm anxious to see more pictures of it (hopefully without that wing). :thumb:

Alright, the car is from Missouri and it's really my proof of concept car.

We built the engine and trans, then designed and built this turbo setup. What makes this one different is that the turbo is completely divorced from the engine. It has it's own oiling system with a reservoir, circulation pumps and a cooler.

Even after pulls at 18lbs of boost, the oil is still cool and only gets to about 130 degrees.

So, the turbo is in the back and tucked in behind the rear bumper. The reservoir is in the spare tire well along with the pumps. The cooler is bolted to the bottom of the spare tire well in the slip stream, but still protected by the rear suspension.

The exhaust piping is all ceramic Jet Hot coated inside and out. This protects the piping and retains the heat inside the piping. Jet Hot coatings don't allow the heat to radiate. It's still hotter than shyte, but you can't feel the heat radiating off the pipes until you're burnt. I have the scars to prove it. The charge piping is bare aluminum and radiates an ass load of heat. The difference is dramatic. After kicking the crap out of it, you can't touch the pipes at the turbo, but you can hold onto the pipes at the front of the car.

The charge piping goes from the compressor all the way up to the front and spends a lot of the time down in the slip stream to act like an intercooler. Once under the engine, it takes a hard left turn and goes up thru the frame rail and into the bottom of the airbox. The factory airbox lid fits and charge piping goes right to the throttle body. I've got the blow off hidden down there by the transmission.

Questions, comments?
