While crochet club sounds like the cats' pooper, I'll be at a Parasol Party.

Pretty cool, actually. We all gather round a fondue and swap stories of how we came upon some of the more prized parasols in our collections, then after a few glasses of wine get into bidding wars over antique parasols on the eBay! It's such fun!

Here's one that I'm thinking will look really sweet on the dashboard of my van:

One of the highlights of a Parasol Party is that after the fondue, and the bidding war(s) and all that heavenly wine, when one person has had just too much to drink and takes a nap on the loveseat the rest of us all poke him with the tips of our parasols, comparing technique and competing to see who gets a rise out of him...

Damn, now THAT's fun!
