So i picked up a 94 MTX today. If you give the car over half pedal it bogs down bad and also once i was on the highway it would randomly cut out almost as if it stopped getting spark or fuel to all the cylinders. The CEL would come on for 30sec then go away for 30sec and repeat this tell i got near my house. Then the battery light came on. Which seems like its just a connection because if i wiggle the single plug the light flickers. Im going to test the ALT tomorrow but it seems like its charging the battery i drove the car for 20 min with the light on and it still starts right up. Any ideas on what my issue might be. I hope its something simple.

Right now I would just worry about the 211 and 214 I doubt the others would cause any drivability issues.

I would say either a bad crank sensor or cam sensor and if it was me I would start with the cam sensor because it's only a 10 minute job if you have little hands and I believ it is only a $30 part.

I don't know what part of RI you're in but if you want to take a ride down here we can swap parts from one of my SHOs to try and narrow the problem down.

Ok let me know, I have an MTX parts car that I can pull the cam sensor and alternator too if you need them. Make sure you guys check the DIS too.

114 is the ACT out of range - my experience is that the engine will run like crap until you fix that.
126 is the CID circuit failure - cam sensor is bad, or wiring to it is bad.
181 is the adaptive fuel at rich limit, rh (rear) bank. This is typically a bad o2 sensor.
211 is PIP circuit failure - the crank sensor is bad.
214 is also CID circuit failure.

The alternator light will also come on if the alternator is overcharging the battery. iirc, voltage over 14.9 will trigger that. You can just check the battery voltage with a multimeter while the engine is running to see what the alternator output is.

I would put new o2 sensors, new crank and cam sensors, and also a new throttle position sensor on, reset the codes and see how that makes it run.

So a bad DIS gave codes for the CID and PIP?
