he insisted on calling it an S H O...not "SHOW..."

Very nice Conan.

Yeah! Kinda irks me that Ford doesn't too. Knowing them, it was the center of a big meeting on how to pronounce it. The fact they decided on "SHOW" makes me think the bean counters prevailed.

Who f-in cares???? I'm more surprised that it didn't come out as an SVT model. Both pronunciations have been used since 1989.

Conan's bit was typically Conan, and pretty lame. That's a few minutes wasted that I'll never get back.

I think the fact he couldn't open the hood was real. Bet he couldn't check the oil in his '92 if his life depended on it.

Apparently, I do. Although I'm not a big fan of his humor, I guess at least he's bringing the S H O into the limelight. I think Amy Marentic did a good job of playing along.

My "who f-in cares" had to do with whether it's S.H.O. or Show.

It's BOTH, and it always has been.

Besides, Super High Output is lame for 365 HP in this era. Not so in 1989.

It was probably a good thing that the 92 wasn't tidy and shined up. It would have stolen the show. When the cars were sitting side by side, you couldn't help but admire the low, sleek, timeless style of the 92. Even the new SHO couldn't take that away from it.

^ He's always got the 92 lookin' dirty or having parts fall off it or something. I personally think Conan is the man, however, I was fully expecting him to close the segment and get in the car and drive away with the woman in the trunk haha.

I'm a little tight, right there.

They told me that I'm not supposed to touch you.

On tmz about a month ago he was fueling up a boxster.

what about Amy's response when he popped the hood. Then they didn't SHO us the new one.

The engine bay actually doesn't look that bad. I think that was what the WOW was for. Any logical person would expect the engine bay to be a disaster based on the exterior, same with the interior. He rocks it in true sleeper fashion.

Those Galaxies were beautiful cars, and the interiors were dazzling. The mid 60's had some great cars. They don't make much sense now, but back in the day..... I had a 62 Galaxy with the 406 tri-power and the 4-speed transmission. It was black with a red (bucket seats, big deal back then) interior, it was a shocking sight. An absolute monster.

thanks for posting the link to the vid!

10% funny, 2% informative, 78% idiotic, 10% tragic.

not sure why they talked about his 17 year old car so much, maybe they didn't want to look like a Ford commercial... if nothing else it was testament to the longevity of the S.H.O. on broadcast TV.

Yeah, the day of the land yachts. When I was a kid, a neighbor had a convertible '66 Galaxie 500 XL with a 4-speed and Cherry Bombs. Didn't have the 7.0 Litre, but a 390. I was in awe. With the bucket seats, yours must have been an XL.

Sent. I tried typing out an impassioned, near-250 word explanation as to why he should rebuild Conan's SHO... hit 'send'... "comment too long".

F#*%.

So I told him, quickly, that he needed to do it, and allow longer comments .

I personally think he really treats the car as a go-getter or beater car. The car does look pretty beat and the engine bay was pretty dirty. It looks to have spent time outside as the door cards were yellowing from the sun.
