Was a weekend filled with ups and downs at the NMRA World Finals @ Beech Bend Raceway.

Modular Depot hooked me up with a tune late friday to give the car some more juice.

Had some issues with the initial program and didn't get to run it on saturday.

This morning they got the bugs worked out, but unfortunately my open comp class was almost done running by the time i got everything loaded and working. I had to rush to the lanes as the class was half ran, and i had to run hot after a 30 minute drive with 0 cool down time.

the car still went a 13.17 with it's highest mph in the upper 104's. I figured my goal of 12's at the world finals was over. :(

I was positive the car would go 12'.s Ken from MD said to start cooling the car and he was going to try to get us a free run at some point to try to crack the 12's.

After 2 hours of cooling someone pointed out that the 1/4 mile bracket class hadn't run yet, i ran up and signed up for the class. I had to pick my e.t. so i said lets go right past the 9.s and go for 8's and dial a 12.89.

I was lined up next to a v6 2010 mustang. she went first as she was dialed in the 14's. she left, my light came down and i left.

At the big end I was about 2 cars ahead of her i think.. I said to myself. Either she ran horrible, or I did something right!!

Pulled to the tower. and

I was rewarded with a timeslip of a 12.75@108 mph!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so frikin stoked and it made the whole weekend worthwhile. I had 10 hours of sleep in 3 days and was flat wore out, but it was definately worth it!

I really want to thank Ken and Modular Depot and all the people behind the scenes that helped get everything worked out on the tune!

you went from a 13.17 to a 12.75 by icing the intake?

not trying to troll, just making sure i'm reading this right

i'm sorry. It just clicked that you dropped a full second off your stock time with only a tune and some ice.

there is a difference from running a car after 30 minutes of driving including just finishing a few wot blasts testing out the tune and immediately running down the 1/4 mile.

not sure if you spend much time at the track, but cooling a vehicle makes a ton of difference.

some of my friends in heads up classes literally have adapters to flush the water out of the radiator and start circulating in ice water as soon as they pull back in the pits

cool is good, especially cool iat temps. when your car is heat soaked, it's gonna run slower

Very nice! I knew these cars would be running 12's soon, but I did not expect it this soon. Congrats! So what all is included in the tune? Stock boost? I can not imagine what these things will be doing with some lightwieght wheel/tire combos and some hard parts (intake, DP's, bigger turbos)

something about this puzzle is not adding up. that is why.

a full second off the stock et with only a *mild* tune and some ice?

this might be the stlsr in me but vids or it didnt happen.

ummmm, i ran the time at the NMRA World Finals in front of thousands of people and vendors

There pretty much wasn't anyone in the ford racing community that wasn't there.

well, the tune is adding about 4-5 psi, but it's a safe pump gas tune.

and as far as cooling the car, the car was mainly air cooled. i had a little bag of ice sitting on the intake which isn't very big.

my car was sitting there with the hood up for the entire weekend at the largest mustang drag race event of the year.

i had the passenger seat pulled, my homeade little cold air which i pull before i run, and a tune, thats it,

don't be a hater

not to mention. torries tune gave me .7 off my stock e.t. without playing with boost, so why wouldn't 4-5 more psi give another .4????

modular depot gave me a tune with a boost increase, lower timing and a/f though
