Open up the valve covers... look at the cams. If all four say KOB on them, then they're ATX cams. If they say KOA on them, they're MTX cams. I think it's the intake cams that'll say KOA if they've been done; I don't think there's a difference on the exhaust cams.

Well, while considering a cam swap you should think about your budget. If you want a little bit more pep ( due to the 3.0's lift) use the stock 3.0 Intake cams. If you want to spend some money, get some aftermarket ones check out SHONUT.

The cams are a lot harder than they might seem at first; it requires removal of the timing belt (and all that entails), all the cam caps, the cam chains (on the other end) and cam tensioner, and then finally the cams themselves. There is a good write-up on most of it at SHOPP.

Just Depends on how mechanically inclined you are. While you have the Intake off, Might as well do a FULL 60k IMO. So more time is involved but youll be WAY more comfortable that your cam swap/hours are secure and your not gonna have to tear it apart anytime soon. like i said IMO lol

Cam replacement isn't that hard, don't scare the kid.

Oh, and no such thing as a KOB exhaust cam; they're all KOA. Only the intake cams were different, and as such, are the only KOB cams in a SHO V6.

I have a 3.2 and I just looked at mine and they say KOA. So are they out of a 3.0 for sure.
