Allright, first, get the 91 SHO if you think it is a good buy. Trust me, there are alot more decent girls available than decent SHO's, and they both need to be maintained, so the decision is an easy one. A SHO is very likely to be more rewarding, and you can use the SHO to find another girl. As far as exhaust, I agree with and have high flow cats, gives a deeper sound. It's hard to beat the beauty of a 5.0 Mustang at idle, but the high end cats should satisfy you when you pass the 5.0.

ive got dual fart can mufflers from Ebay, like 20 bucks a piece, and its the sweetest sound ever. might change when I take off the stock y-pipe, tho. its got a mellow muscle tone, not at all stupid hondaish or blatty weak focusish. And thats before I step on it!!!

But thats with the stock cats and y-pipe which will change in September... I'll haft to uploads some mp3s too of it!

First of all your thread title syas your looking for an exhuast for a second gen but the car your trying to buy is a 91 which is a first gen.

All my car 94 ATX has on it is the dynomax catback. Im a v8 guy so i think a most v6 and I4 sound like crap. The SHO has such a special sound though that i actually like the tone of it. I like this catback because you can tell its aftermarket but its not obnixusly loud and rasp and it dosent drone when your crusing at highway speeds.

SuperHO is right. I had a 92 3.2L MTX with a Performance Plus Y-pipe (cats gutted), dynomax piping and resonator, magnaflow mufflers, and 94-95 SHO tips. I was at FPS last weekend and the car was there. That was a fun car. It just needed a quaiffe and it would have been perfect. 4+ transmission rebuilds, multiple clutches, who knows how many sets of front tires. I was replacing the front tires every other oil change. On to BMWs now. Way easier to work on, but the parts are almost as expensive as the SHO.

I thought my SHO sounded the best with SS Y-pipe, stock cat back with Magnaflow mufflers. I currently have headers, y-pipe, hiflow cats, SS cat back, two resonators and magnaflow mufflers.
