I didn't hear from him after about 2 months after I sent him the pictures. So I called him again, and he requested more pictures. Now they have them, and I haven't heard back yet. Now that she's drivable, I'm taking it to get some good estimates done. I would have taken a few hundred bucks, but now I really want to get this taken care of...

He didnt want to file a claim, which I can understand, but after 2 months... I'm starting not to care.. I emailed the guy from the "shipping company" (the one who puts up the car / routes on the "big board" ) and made him aware of what was going on. I'm sure he can expidite things a lot faster than I can... Just wondered what you all thought, or would do in a situation like this....

Only picture I have of the roof from the previous owner.. most of his pics were of the underhood and the areas where the northern cars typically rust.

Do what you can. That's all anyone can do about anything. Take the actions needed to "make it right" and then take the actions needed to make you right.

I assume you have an original copy of the contract? If so, a C-spot (or even a 12-pack) to a lawyer buddy (if you don't have one...find one...lol) may get you a very nicely worded letter with the words "Attorney At Law" at the bottom.

It was damaged by the shipping company, go talk to your insurance agent. The shipping company isnt going to do shit unless you raise ****.

When it happend, it wasn't insured, because it wasn't technically my car then... why would my company care if it was BEFORE I had coverage...

their business insurance NEEDS to pick this claim up. And it needs to get fixed properly.. after all that is their business, to get you your car in the condition they pick it up as. If it were a Veyron or Enzo.. better believe they would have done the job correctly.

Umm... lets recap.. I have a 20,000 mile block, machined headwork 20k ago, new suspension all around. The interior is flawless, everything works... there will be 0 things wrong with it... On top of it being black on black, I'm sure I could sell it for well over book value.

But why does that even matter at all? If I do some electrical work, and burn down someone's old house. It's not my place to say oh well, it wasn't worth all that anyway, and give them $20 for their troubles.

I hope it costs more to fix than its worth... my suspension alone is almost what the car is worth... others have hairdryer setups that are well over the value of the car.

Value of the car holds no bearing on this sort of thing to me... Now the rust free car is developing rust on the top side... and shouldn't be at all. The value of the car dropped in 1/2 with a fat ding like that. It needs fixed, period!

LoL.. considering it was in Vallejo California.. 3000 miles away.. no, not in person.. the very first picture I posted here is the picture the PO took 2 days before it was loaded. So there is my "before" picture.

Cost me about $200 to have my rear quarter panel fixed.

I think you are blowing this whole thing out of proportion, if you are waiting months for them to contact you before you call them, you should give up.

Call them every damn day, find out who they are insured by, call them and report it, file a dang police report and give them copies of the pictures, get a letter, as stated above, from a lawyer, take lots of pictures of the damage, CALL THE GUY YOU BOUGHT IT FROM AND GET MORE PICTURES, have him write you a letter stating the condition of the car before it was sent.

Only reason nothing has happened is because you aren't making them happen, and they are going to ignore you until you take some initiative and deal with it properly. Stop ********, grow a pair and get it taken care of. ******** on here about how nothing is happening isn't going to help.

He didnt want to file a claim, which I can understand, but after 2 months... I'm starting not to care..

Stop being so naive, someone damages your car and you bend over and take it up the ass... nice job.

[/rant]

well, that is my two cents. After dealing with some little **** for backing into my PARKED car and thinking he could just ignore me and get away with it, I gave him 3 days to get everything taken care of with his insurance, took TONS of pictures right in front of him, many with him in them. Didn't hear a thing from him. Filed a police report, used his cell number and got his name, address, parents info, filed small claims. Wouldn't you know, his insurance company called me right away and it was settled in 2 days.

Your dent is nothing compared to what happen to my quarter panel.

LoL @ Niave and grow a pair... I have the pictures, and have already reported it to the actual company that took my money .. the "middle man" in this, and believe me I called that ****** every day for weeks until I got ahold of him.

Don't take my kindness for weakness buddy, I'm far from Naive, and my nuts are plenty big enough... come over to my house so I can slap ya upside the head for sayin that crap to me... then maybe you'll see.. I don't care how tall ya are...

I asked people on here, because some fix cars, and would know an honest answer about how hard it would be to fix / blend whatever. I also like to hear how others who have had cars shipped have dealt with these things.

I spent $500 on the car.. getting an attorney bill started isn't really going to make my idea of a "free" rust free shell a reality.

I've had a ton of shit to deal with latley, and haven't had the time to sit and think about anything recently. I don't have my own secretary... I didn't have the time to bug them constantly, don't think its because I didn't want to... and don't think I'm some lil ***** who will roll over...

I started being nice and kind, that dosen't mean thats where I'll end this story... I like to give people a chance to do what they say, people are only as good as their word.. maybe I'm just old school and should act like a ******** like the rest of the world, but thats just not who I am... sorry

:) See what happens when you try to be nice and decent with the world?
