So my wife's been complaining about a "clunk" happening on the front end of the car on left turns. After driving it, yep...there's a clunk all right. near as I can tell, it's being caused be the lack of the upper bushing on both front subframe bushings. Anyone ever hear of gen III subframe bushings falling apart like this? Especially since the rears are just fine...

Also...from the looks of things, there's a lot of oil simple dripping out of the right front strut...as this is getting replaced soon, I could care less, but could this also be the source of said "clunk", as it only seems to happen on left turns?

There are no upper front subframe bushings on a stock V8 car. It's just a single piece bushing that bolts to the subframe.

IIRC the front OEM bushings are the same as the G2s?
More or less.

I believe there is a slight design difference, but suspect they can be fully interchanged without most people ever noticing. One clear difference is the V6 bushings have that rubber collar with the reliefs for the nuts/studs.

Still 1000000x better to just use the '96+ rear bushings in the front anyway.

So the gap I'm feeling between the top of the subframe and the bottom of the chassis is normal? I'll have to take some pics when she gets home.

As for the CV axle, the boot's intact, so aside from that, I have no idea how to inspect it. Suggestions?
