ok i dont think a sho is this fast stock this is what i know is done to my car suspension work as well as a metal bar welded to my unibody ive got a y pipe and switched from cable to rod shift now saturday i beat me friends 5.0 mustang by a headlight the mustange has a full exhaust 90mm mass air flow sensor and a kn intake and its a 5 speed is this normal or dose my car have more work done to it then i know btw i held a nose on him up to 95mph then shut it down

sounds like a modded mtx to me
if i remember right the 5.0's only pushed about 220hp. i love those cars a lot and would take a 5.0 over the SHO's any day, but i dont think they are as fast as you would expect.

I have an intake and he had an exhaust. I spanked it off the line and had about 3 cars by 70.. They are SLOW.... his was a 2000 with just over 110k. mines a 94 with 139k!

just so you know the police interceptor didnt mean shit as far as the motor went.also they didnt start putting PI(performance improved) motors in the crown vics till 200/2001.so the old ones are REAL dogs.the 01 and up ones are a tad less sluggish but the car still weighs like 4k lbs.ppl think PI stands for police interceptor when in fact it means what i stated above.im a bit of a modular motor guru.i have a 96 gt with pretty much everything done to it haha.

ive had both...
my Heavily modified 88 MGT vert was nowhere near as fun to drive as my SHO.
the SHO is so much more refined over the rattlebox Foxbody (or even the SN95's for that matter)
FWIW the SHO outperformed the MGT in every year it was produced 89-95
(mtx/mtx)
and the only downfall the gen 3 had was the slushbox.. but powerplant vs powerplan the sho was on par with every MGT of the same year.

over a foxbody yes,an sn95 i dont agree with.have owned all 3 and still own a 90 sho and a 96 gt.rwd is much more fun then fwd to me.idk if you have owned an sn95 but i dont think its less refined then a sho by any means and mine is deff not a rattlebox.
the you haven't had it long enough. or your too young to really understand the dynamics of driving and letting the car talk to you.
in layman's terms if these cars could talk. the MGT would speak in Morse Code, while the SHO speaks in Binary
my best man at my wedding has a 97 Saleen with 50k on it.Ive drivin it, raced it. had sex in it.(no not with him you pervert). yeah im pretty familiar with it. my 91 SHO is way more refined.

and the Gen 3 SHO is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the SN95 Mustangs. in terms or refinement **** the steering rack in a gen 3 cost more new than the ENTIRE suspension on ANY MGT - 2003.

fox body mustang is a rattlebox and unrefined.
a 97 mustang,saleen or not is an underpowered non pi shat motored car as far as seat of the pants performance but with simple upgrades is a whole diff car.
as far as interior and more refined i dont see what you mean.my buddy has a 98 sho and i didnt notice anything real special about it.
as far as compared to 2nd gen,they use sum of the same parts like stereo and things and i dont see here either or compared to first gen for that matter.im not that young either,im 26.i guess its just a matter of taste here and what really floats your boat.i dont understand how an expensive steering rack is a factor in deciding which is better.two diff things too.fwd and rwd.
