I have a persistant, intermitant miss on my 91. Based upon my reading of this forum, I suspecting :

plug wires
dis
coil
grounds

No oil in the 4 wells I could easily check.
No codes from computer.
One plug wire was corroded at the coil end
I had the AC compressor and orifice tube replaced about a year ago.
has been about 55k since last 60k, which can't happen until this summer.

There is no rhyme or reason to the misfire. Off idle, 2000-3500 rpm, you can feel it when it is happening. Can't feel it all when over 4000 rpm. Gas milage down by 4 mpg.

What should test before I start replacing parts? I am thinking coil, then plug wires.

Thanks,

wires THEN plugs THEN coil...just from experience.

Agreed, but if you have cleaned your engine recently I and there is no water in the wells, I would look at the coil pack. I killed mine a couple of times on my focus when cleaning the engine off... Now I cover the Alt, coil pack, and DIS with foil so they dont get too wet. Good luck.

Yeah, the engine was steam cleaned by a shop when they were trying to track down an oil leak that I could not find. Turned out to be the pressure sensor. I was embarrassed.

How to Replace Pressure Sensor

I suspect an oil leak at the pressure sensor. I have seen it in diagrams. I think that I have glimpsed it. How the heck do you get to it? Once there, how do you get it out, and a new one in?

The oil pressure sending unit is on the firewall side of the block, towards the driver's side.
