My 95 SHO's factory headlight lenses are "yellowed". Is this normal? If so what can I use to possibly clean this discolorization with? I do not want to have to buy new headlight assemblies if at all possible.

i used 2 things and they actually worked pretty good. most of the yellow is all gone. i used castrol all purpose cleaner (castrol super cleaner?) on them and u can see the yellow just run off and i also used this stuff from home depot called "gel gloss" vinyl and acrylic cleaner(in a pink can)that works wonders. just spray anbd let it sit for several mins and then buff right off. it may take more than one spray of the stuff but the yellow stuff all over your towel will be a good indicator when to stop. the bottle was only like 4$

well if it isnt yellowed from the inside you can try wetsanding them with 500 grit sandpaper and then again with 1000 grit wetsandpaper then buy some platicote spraycan clear and reclear em...that works for external tarnishing.Hope that helps.

No guys..your going about it all wrong. All you need is some salt and vinegar.. OR Plain crest toothpaste...works wonders and it will look like brand new. Just make a paste out of the salt and vinegar..and away you go.

I'm going to try Oxy-Clean. My man Billy Mays says its powered by the same air you and I breath. Then when that doesn't work I'm going with the salt and vinagar.

I tried the oxy-clean on the parking lights on my 89 GMC. WOW, they were very yellow, now they look new. I put 2 scoops of the oxy-clean in about 2 cups of warm water, (the stuff doesnt disolve very well in cold water). I used a small soft dish brush and scrubbed lightly for about 2 min on each one. Im impressed with the results My man Billy Mays came through.
