I'm wondering where I get the Yamaha side badges to replace the 24V DOHC ones. It doesnt say Yamaha it just has the 3 tuning forks and it's a circle instead of a square. I know I saw it on Toolman's car when I watched the a video when it was on the Dyno. Are they available anywhere or were they cutom pieces. I would think more epople would have them if they were.

Thanks.

I purchased some similiar to the one on Tim's car while at the convention. They're about two inches across, and have a black background and the tuning forks look like brushed aluminum. I've seen these same stickers on ebay for $5.00 for two, and I got them from the Yamaha dealership for $1.50/ea. The one on Tim's car is a little bit bigger and looks like its only a vinyl decal. Some Yamaha dealerships have them, others dont, but I think most can order them.

Nice, I think they look pretty good. So I can get them on eBay or at a Yamaha dealership, correct?

You can get really nice ones from the Yamaha dealer also. They are for of a crotch rocket model bike like the 1100. I forgot the model. But they are the fuel tank emblems and they have the clear urathene covering on them. I think they are better then the brushed aluminum one from off of the dirt bike series.

Marc, there are a few Yamaha dealers in the area. I'd go around and look at the different ones they can get. The ones for their wave runners look really good, and you might be able to get some from older bikes, that had emblems they don't use anymore.

I was thinking the same thing Bill. The first one that popped into my head is the one of 22, at least I think there's one on 22.

They are expensive at the Yamaha dealers... I had a set... took them back 'cause I decided not to use them. I'd watch Ebay.

I thought the dealership would be pricey. What about going badgeless? How do you think that would look.

Also, what's the easiest way to remove them, dental floss?

I just took my badges off about a month ago. Detal floss will just break, I tried fishing line and it broke too. I found a spakle knife worked the best. The paint underneath may be a little brighter compared to the rest of the paint, but I used a clay bar and it's almost not noticeable, I only notice when I'm washing the car. I like it better without the badges, looks cleaner.

I bought mine at the Yamaha dealership before I thought to check on ebay. The 89 had a set on the sides where the DOHC badges are on later models, but in hindsight I liked the look without them better. It did really compliment the Al Fitz Yamaha badges though, and sparked a lot of gas station questions about the car itself.
