Has anyone installed the Xenarc X1010 Foglights? I'm thinking about getting them, but the "Overkill" alarm in my head started ringing.

Thoughts?

Oh that looks nice! Mine look like light from a AA minimag flashlight with the batteries running low. The Cyber Whites, do you have a part/model number for em? (I'm gonna pick me up some!)

no man i dont have them with me... sorry

but more than likely most Auto parts stores have them... if not... there is always ebay...
they also fit perfect.. so you can go by that as well... IIRC the deminsions are 2'' tall by 4 1/2'' long...
or just take your old light in???

i will try to find the box tomorrow though....
another thing... you can mount them 2 ways... either to the old brackets, or to the bumper... if you moun to the bumper, like i did, you have to remove the old brackets. Which happen to weigh around 5lbs each....or so...

I installed them in my old 95 ATX with relative ease.

Remove the old foglight brackets completely. You need to make about a 1/2" thick spacer with a hole in it to drop the light down into the proper vertical location. I used an aluminum intake manifold bracket (have bunches of them at my disposal), which worked great (picture the top bolt hole of the bracket, score it & break it off so you only get the flat square part, perfect fit). Use the original bracket hole for the housing with that spacer.

I put the ballasts in between the radiator support & the headlight mounting panel - plenty of cooling & out of the way, easy access to the battery.

Use in conjunction with the Silverstar 9007 bulbs, and you've got a really good lighting setup.

Make sure they're aimed properly, and keep the Sylvania paperwork that says they're DOT legal in the glovebox. With the combination of the Silverstars & X1010's, I got pulled over once. Politely explained "2ft @ 30ft" & "DOT-legal" & was ok, got off with an officer-frustrated-with-HIDs verbal with no teeth.

saleensho-i love the fogs man, but do your driving lights match them as well? Id like to see white fogs/white headlight bulbs as well, because you gotta get them all to match together.

yes, they are close... but only when the headlights are clean, and have been waxed.
I have yet to "refinish" them....

I am also running Silvania Silverstars... i will try to get a pick at night with them on... (head on pic)

the combo works very well.
High beams with the SS's, are VERY VERY bright... and add to the fact that the fogs are always on, (high and low beam) makes for awsome lighting...
FYI, at night, if im on a deserted highway, and i cut my headlights off, and toggle with the fogs, i can see them turning on and off, at least 1/4 mile away... allthough i do have them aimed to about 10-12ft in front of the car...

Optronics driving lights. This pic was taken last year with stock headlights, LED parking and corners.
Now I'm running the same Optronics, Sylvania Xtravision bulbs (brighter than the Silverstars, half the price, no fancy white colour), Silverstars parking lights, and 6 194 LEDs corner bulbs.

Saleen, are you sure your lights are aimed correctly? Or is there a lot of glare...

Blazer Tech foglights. $26 shipped, used factory wiring, used modified factory bracket. Fills the holes perfectly and has no blue-ish tint on the glass.......that look bothers me.

I think the blazer techs stick out the holes too much, IMO. And FYI the blue tint is not on the lens, it's actually the bulb. A blue color in the glass of the bulb actually filters out the blue light and traps it inside the bulb, thus releasing only white light.

I still like the Optronics the most, no modification needed to be done to the brackets, perfect fit, doesn't stick out like the Blazers, and super bright.

Be it on the bulb or the lense, if it's got a blue tint I don't care for the look of it. To this day, I still don't understand why people buy clear corners and stick colored bulbs in them......kinda defeats the purpose IMO.

To each his own. I can understand your point. Just remember that "blue" bulbs don't always light up blue.

any way you guys can do a down the road or on the wall comparison of these fogs? that'd be a better way to see thier brightness rather than head on shots
