Last night I took the passenger side into a guard rail, and no not the side, head on to the end. I was able to turn and clipped it right about the head light. Got a good look at it today and the tie rod snapped, the wheel hub also was knocked up the shock a little. Other then that it looks like all I have to do is replace a few outer body stuff, frame looks untouched and brackets for bumber and stuff seem a little bent, no biggy there. I post here because I work about 25 miles away from where I live (in a rural area as well). Also it's our only car at the moment, I don't know what all to look for exactly, beside the obvious stuff, is there anything I could easily overlook, a non experienced person might overlook, suggestions about what to do from here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know how much help this will be....but...

The headlight, it got hit right? So that needs replacement. That whole bracket around it is probably broke now as well, and the bumper reinforcement is probably broke in a few pieces...Thats all I know that is "hidden" damage...for the body... If your hood was hit at all maybe those hinges are bent as well, maybe.

Oh one more thing. I thought my old 89 had no damage in a head on collision, to the frame at least, and then when I checked it out in detail I noticed that the bumper mount had ripped through the metal it was connected to on the body, and pushed it in....hopefully that didn't happen to yours.
