I changed both of my ball joints yesterday. I had to take out the axle from the hub on the passenger side. I would imagine that I would know if I was driving off only one axle but I'm just curious. I was tugging on it a little but my mechanic said it was fine. I've taken out axles before and I'm sure I didnt disconnect it but I'm just wondering if it would be obvious if I did. My car feels slightly different not in a bad way though which would make sense since I changed out my worn swap bar links, ball joints and tires.

I think/hope I'm worrying about nothing.

If the axle wasn't in all the way I doubt you'd be able to reconnect the lower control arm/ balljoint to the steering knuckle.

You'd probably also hear some crazy noise as the splines on the axle rub against the tranny.

And, I doubt the car would move. Stupid differential, power takes the path of least resistance.

But I'm no pro- anyone else??
