Hello everyone. Just bought my SHO last weekend & I've come across a problem. Sometimes when I push the button to start it, it won't turn over but the easy access moves the seat back & forth. Had my windows tinted yesterday & the doors were opened for 3 1/2 hours. When I went to leave, it wouldn't start. Drove 40 miles to home. Seems that would have charged the battery. Today, I went to work and parked the car in the driveway. When I went to put it in the garage, it wouldn't start again. If I connect a battery pack to it, it starts right up. Could it be my battery isn't good? It's a 2012.
Thanks

the battery could easily be bad - we have some that are bad on brand new cars.

when it doesn't start, does it complain that the fob is not found, or just not crank over? if its just not cranking over, and if a jump box gets it to start, I'd have the battery tested and expect to buy a new battery.

I didn't notice if it said the fob is not found. It just won't crank, but it immediately starts with a boost. I'll have the battery checked out. Thanks.

I had to replace the battery in my 2011 a couple years ago with only 11,000 miles on the odometer.

Guess they don't make batteries like they use to. Calling the dealer tomorrow to see if a 3 year old battery is under warranty.
Thanks

Good luck. Regardless, consider upgrading to an 800+ CCA battery (plenty of those available aftermarket). Modern cars are power hogs.

Car wouldn't start this morning after being on a charger for 6 hours yesterday. Boosted it, bought a new battery & all seems fine. Thanks for all the helpful replies.

They've definitely taken quite a hike, so the debate usually comes down to paying in "installments" (buying cheaper batteries more frequently) or "lumpsum" (more expensive, longer-lived, one shot).

I replaced a battery in the SHO and Land Cruiser in the same afternoon. $210 + tax all told. And the Trailblazer needs one too...

You've uncovered a little-known feature of our SHOs - once you get your windows tinted, it automatically detects how many people stop and admire it while it is parked. If it feels there weren't enough people or if someone is actively in the process of drooling over the looks of your sweet ride, then it won't start -- this allows those people more time to wipe their chins as they walk by.
