Hey Everyone,

Trying to figure out the best course of action here, at "high speeds" my hood shakes and wobbles so violently I think it is going to fly off. Obviously wind is getting under the front lip and lifting the hood. My car is missing the hood insulation piece on the bottom side of the panel, however I cannot imagine this would completely remedy the symptom. I have also installed a thick rubber seal on the front edge and sides of the hood which only helped slightly.

What do you think may be going on here?

How do your hood bolts look? Or does your hood struts still hold the hood up. Maybe there rattling in there

Everything seems good. I of course immediately checked them the first time it happened. The struts hold it up perfectly and the latch has it locked solid. It just seems to shimmy and shake back and forth or something at high speeds.

Was thinking of getting hood pins to fix it, but that seems like a ridiculous addition to an otherwise sleeper sedan. Really don't want to do that.

You could unscrew the hood bumpers a little and see if that tightens things up. There should be one on each side of the front of the hood, might help with some of the shaking or wobbling.

There are not only the two bolts on each side, there are also little rubber "bumpers" that you can adjust.

Do you have the engine cover underneath? I've heard a lot of people say their hood shakes if that is missing.

Are you referring to the cover on the engine or the insulation that is on the bottom of the hood? The engine cover is there, but hood insulation materials are missing.

Yep I third the big plastic pan under engine, it will be missing or hanging down. Mine did that when the dealer tried to sell me the car without it. Made it to the freeway on my way home 3 times before they told me they would order a new one since mine was broke.

If you’re going to buy a new one, I’d recommend the version that comes on the EB Flex. It has the vents that direct air up towards the read turbo/PTU

I’ve wondered that too. Lots of things they do don’t make sense though so I’ve given up trying to figure it out lol

Above and beyond guys! Thank you for the help. I actually went so far as to build a sealing structure under the hood, not knowing what else to do... kinda looks cool in my opinion...3a18c51c0a1fa07f85f91b313117d7d2
