Is it called Infinity? The Nissan product? Heck, I will go with Volvo. At least I'm sure of the name.

These 2 brands were high quality when I was younger. First car I ever owned was a Datsun 200sx.

Now you have to do your homework on those brands. Alot of issues with Nissan and Volvo has changed hands several times from Ford to Geely Motors of China. That doesn't mean the cars you have an eye on are not good. But you have to dig a little more to make sure.

You just had to. You couldn't take it for what it is. You had to try to spin it. You couldn't just let me walk away.

Drove this yesterday, yes it is a 19 not new by any means car had just under 5k on it.
Fit and finish was great both inside and out, paint was deep and clear.
Overall I was VERY impressed with the car, thing is....its not for me. Looking to replace the wifes 18 FS. Overall she really liked it BUT the brand is somewhat of a issue for her.
Out of the box its a pretty strong package, just as quick as her tuned "bolt on" FS in the midrange and top end, wasn't a strong down low though. Transmission AND Steering was a wonderful surprise. Quilted seating could get a little old after a while imo....Not sure exactly how much lighter this car is over the FS but it feels MUCH lighter.
The whole tuning issue with the car is my main concern, at this time there just isn't much of a aftermarket for the car.
Its still a contender, want to get her to try a new Stinger next. Just a bigger fan of the exterior...

Coworker of mine owns one.

He loves every bit of it. Sharp interior and like you said, quality, fit/finish etc. all top notch.

Speaking of other brand options.. Friend of mine bought a '14 Audi S6 about a month ago. It's a damn sharp car! Almost makes me wish I spent an extra 5k and bought one myself. More HP/torque out of the box, plus V8 sounds. I was also looking at getting an A7 before I bought the SHO. However for the price I couldn't turn down the sho for what you get with it, plus I was already familiar with the taurus platform. I am by no means loyal to one brand. I get that Ford is following the demand, but they are going to push me into a different brand in the future. I would've loved to see a Taurus refresh that would be a direct competitor to the Charger, and have the SHO compete with the 5.7 or scat pack. Although now I am only left to switch to a brand like Audi with their quattro AWD, or even BMW. There's going to be a point in time where a lot of the Gen 4 buyers are going to want newer cars with new technology and the Taurus will 'feel' old, and that's when a lot of buyers will switch brands.

As the title suggests, whatcha guys looking at? I'm a total anti SUV/Truck kinda guy so I definitely feel abandoned by Ford.
The wife might just end up with a 21 Mach1 but I am definitely going to shop other brands as well. Especially in a 48-54k price range...
Just had the same conversation with a Sales Assoc I have known for years at my local dealer. Evidently I am not the only one that the boot on the ground troops are worried about losing.

Couple years ago, I switched over to the 03-04 Infiniti G35 sedan. Moved on from the SHO game and never looked back. I have a nice 03 G35. These cars were well built. Mine still looks and runs like almost new. Powerful too and they are still nice if well maintained and rust free like my baby.

Honestly, once my SHO kicks the bucket (hopefully not for a long time), I'll probably end up getting an F150 or an Explorer ST. I drove my girlfriend's sister's F150 that had a lift kit, full tint, boost gauge, and what I believe to be a can of nitrous tucked underneath one of the back seats. That thing was fun as **** to drive and hearing the turbo whistle made it even better.

Either that or I become a middle aged male adult and buy a Toyota Corolla.

When did you last watch the NASCAR CUP Series? They run "Mustangs" and "Camaros" in both CUP and Exfinity. (Quotes added since they are only skins over a generic chassis.)

I've been hankering for a MB SL63AMG as my next car, but I have a lot of other higher priorities.

After owning 4 SHOs over roughly 20 years, I traded in my 2014 SHO last year on a...wait for it...2016 Porsche Cayenne S. Thanks to (I assume) soccer moms trading these in after 3 year leases, I paid roughly $40k (less than MSRP on an new SHO, when you could get them new) on a 3 year old Porsche in great shape that originally had MSRP of just shy of $90k.

I joked with everyone that it was my "mid life crisis SUV", but with 420hp and AWD it's as practical as the SHO was and just as fun. Great community as well!

Oddly, the similarities (sort of) with the gen4 SHO are interesting - high HP, AWD, 3.6l (close!) twin turbo engine, and it even has endemic "transfer case issues" (aka the SHO PTU drama) - so much so that Porsche extended the warranty on that part.

We still have a F150 in the family (needed the truck utility), but I'm enjoying the Porsche world for now. Ford may get me back someday, but after being disappointed not once...but twice (I had a 89, then a 95...then an Infiniti G35 sedan while the Taurus was on hiatus...then a '10, then the '14) I've stepped out of the Ford world for awhile.

Ironic timing of this thread.

Just bought wife a new 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited w/the 1.6L (single) turbo.

She absolutely loves the car, and we've been quite pleased with the (used) 2015 MY of the exact same vehicle we purchased her a few years back (which we ended up gifting to our youngest child as a result of this current purchase).

The amount of tech in this car is utterly insane. There are cameras like everywhere. The dash even changes to a camera view when a turn signal is activated. The car can also pull itself in and out of a parking stall by means of the remote! Completely driverless! Crazy stuff. We also love the LED lighting throughout. Just a sharp car all around and the warranty (both in coverage and duration is industry leading).

Too bad for FORD that they chose to opt out of the car market. We spent our money elsewhere as a result of their decision(s).

Which I still think was/is incredibly premature on their part. Oh well. They forced my hand.

These are beautiful cars, we are looking at possibly getting one for the wife as well. Her lease is up in January, so we we’ll see.

With my SHO now sold off, I’ve been looking at the Genesis G80 5.0! I love big sedans like the SHO, the G80 would be a real nice cruiser.
