Ford F-150 has a maximum tow rating of 13,200 pounds and a total payload capacity of 3,270 pounds. The base Tundra SR comes closest to these figures, with a towing capacity of 10,220 pounds and maximum payload capacity of 1,720 pounds.
Only the F150's over-the-top Raptor trim comes close to matching the Tundra's fuel-guzzling figures.
Both trucks come standard with active safety features like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Of the two, it’s the Tundra that includes a few more safety features as standard, such as automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control, but the F-150's higher crash test ratings give it the edge in this category.

Hey, I get it...but they do "technically" fall into the same "class" of vehicle, 1/2 ton pickup...the F150 is just simply better at it.

Same class, not competitive.
My point is, though...Ford is making the same mistake all auto manufacturers made in the late 70s/80s. Assuming current lack of competition = guaranteed sales, so quality was ignored.

Maybe, or maybe a really really smart "business" decision. Remember, they are in business to make money. They will only get better if Americans want better...but currently Americans love their German and Japanese sedans. But hey, it's their business to lose.

Sentimentally I am wanting them to make a performance sedan. However, you have to have access to the same market and income: expenses data and all the other data and pressures to say whether you would have done something different. It's easy for all of us to opine when our ***** aren't on the line for the results. Just my opinion from the easy chair in front of a craptop
With the exception of trucks and Mustangs, Ford seems to regularly make their bestsellers WORSE each time they redesign/update them. Taurus went from bestseller to freaking canceled in 25 years. But the Civic, Camry, et. al. get better every year.

The problem isn’t that Ford can’t make super high quality cars with lavish interiors. The problem is people who buy Fords won’t pay the price it costs for super high quality cars with lavish interiors. And, the people who are willing to pay, don’t buy Fords.

Exactly! Same reason the Euro and Japanese markets don't make 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups. What self-respecting general contractor or ranch owner is going to buy a 1-ton Audi pickup? None, lol

The next car in my garage will likely be a Volvo or a the Nissan luxury brand, whose name escapes me. I typically don't respond to the forum, although I enjoy reading it every week. I am in complete agreement with the position that Ford abandoned the car market. Even though I proudly own an SHO, I have never seen an SHO or Taurus commercial. I don't accept the position that Ford gave people what they wanted. People wanted what Ford pushed. It's a profit margin issue, and it will bite them in the buttox area real soon. My next car would have been the 2022 SHO PP. 500 HP, off the factory floor screamer! Unfortunately, I will not have that option. Is it called Infinity? The Nissan product? Heck, I will go with Volvo. At least I'm sure of the name.

This is the last time I will say it. If they dont buy it, Ford quits making it. So if you think about it "Ford doesn't give the people what they don't want". Shit you would think with Google and smartphones so widespread everyone would know the basics of whatever they are interested in. Supply and demand, maintaining profits, research and development in other areas... There's a lot of reasons for changes. But the main one people keep glossing over is simple: Americans didn't buy American sedans. That's straight facts. Like it, love it, **** it.... But it is what it is.
