I'm would be interested in trading my 1991 Coy Miller Stage 1 Super Coupe with a built 3.8L supercharged V6. Coy Miller was the pioneer of Super Coupe performance. Throughout the 1990's and early 2000's, Coy Miller Racing was the only shop that specialized in building Super Coupes. He didn't build very many, and this is one of the few remaining survivors. The car has been repainted, as it was originally plain oxford white. The previous owner decided to paint it using the 1995 SC paint option "Performance White Pearl. The paint looks really good except for a few spots. The rear bumper has spider cracks and a rub mark from being backed into and the hood has a little grit in it, but the rest is very nice. But it sure does shine in the sunlight! The pearl is beautiful. No clearcoat peeling anywhere.
It has burgundy interior with half leather/cloth SC seats. The dash is completely crack free and looks brand new. The carpet is freshly shampooed and stain free and looks great. The trunk carpet looks brand new. The front seats were re-upholstered with new vinyl a few years back but for some reason the owner never did the back seats. There are no rips or stains, but there are some wear marks in the leather from the sun and age. If the back seat was re-upholstered to match the front, the interior would be beautiful.
The odometer is broke and reads 81K miles. We're not exactly sure how many miles are on the car, or the rebuilt engine for that matter. The Coy Miller racing engine obviously has a lot less miles than the chassis though, as it was rebuilt in 2002. However, the car is completely rust free and the doors shut really nice and the power windows roll up fast. The car also has a sunroof, and it works. The car has a Coy Miller Stage 1 SC cam, Coy Miller ported and flat milled heads, Ford Racing High Performance Roller Rockers, Edelbrock 70mm TB, 10% SC pulley, and the transmission has a shift kit in it as well. It shifts really firm. I can't name you everything that was done to the engine during the rebuild, but the receipts from Coy Miller will tell you all that you need to know. I have a 10 receipts from Coy Miller Racing totaling thousands of dollars. No expense was spared building the engine. It also have a dyno sheet from Coy Miller Racing with engine performance specs. It reads 305 HP and 411 ft. lbs. of torque, but it could have a little more now with the smaller pulley and bigger throttle body. All of the paperwork will come with the car. There is also a full photo album documenting the rebuild.
Since purchasing the car, I've already sunk a little money into it. I rebuilt the supercharger and installed new bearings, coupler, and oil. It was starting to make a little noise, and I didn't want to take any chances. It's very quiet and smooth now. I also bought a pair of clear corner lights and headlights and serviced the transmission. The car just had a fresh oil change too. It's definitely one of the few remaining Coy Miller Super Coupes.
Please contact me if you have any questions or want more pictures. The car is located in Columbia, Mo.
