Ok, So when I use my wipers they work fine.

up until the time that I go to turn them off. Then they go full UP instead of tucking down under the hood.

When I use the intermitant wipers, and they pause between strokes, they stay at the bottom of the windshield. but then when I turn them off, they go back up to the upper left side.

This happened to my mom's lincoln.. but no one remebers how they fixed it.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I think it has to do with the wiper motor.

I'm trying to figure mine out too, since they shut off some times on the delay settings, but it doesn't do it all the time or even on the same setting.

This prob I know, you have to clean the terminals inside the wiper stalk. SDPATT has posted this somewhere, I'm sure you could do a search on it.

Hey Eric, that's it - you can't touch my cars anymore. Now the Mocha 91 is doing the exact same thing with the "parking in the up position" on intermittant & regular - in fact, they whipped up PAST the a-pillar today on the highway. Neat, huh? Once I got down to normal around-down speeds, they function normally again & park down low.

my 91 ranger did that for a while, even if the switch was off, sometimes a slamming the hood would cause them to turn on. They would also not turn off, just keep going occasionally. At first I was told it was the ground for the wiper motor, but I then replaced the 'parking module' under the dash, a small grey box and never had the problem again. I dunno if the Taurus has the same set up, but you might try that.
