The other day, the windshield wipers were working fine, then my blower motor realy burnt out (again). I replaced the relay and now the wipers don't work anymore.. what the ****?

No idea of where to even start.

1. remove tilt wheel lever.
2. insert key to on position, but do not start.
3. insert small diameter phillips head screw driver into hole under column to press round "button "to remove ignition and key.
4. Unscrew the 3 (or 4) screws holding the two plastic column pieces together.
5. remove the couple torx (IIRC) bolts and unclip the harnesses that attaches the MFS to the column.

Really nothing to it bro. Once you see it with the plastic shields off, you'll get it with no problem. Just don't break the tabs that hold the harness on it.

My brother has a '99 and when he turns his windshield wipers on, the relay clicks, but it does so in the box on the side of the battery.

How does the '99 differ from the '97's? So far I've found that they have an extra box for more relays, but I'm not sure why. The '97's also have a box there, but it's IC logic and not for relays.

Also, is there a way to manually activate the wipers?

I't;s probably the GEM that's bad. Located behind the inside fuse box.

Generic Electronic Module. I have one for a '99 if he needs it.

Hmm.. I guess it's possible. I don't know if that's the problem or not though since the sprayers don't come on either, but then again, I dunno. I just need to start taking some stuff apart and see.

Do you have to take off the fuse box to access the GEM?

Yes disconnect all the plugs (6) and then the the box slips up and out. The GEM is attached on the back by one screw IIRC.
