Ok I went out for a little bit last night In my red 95. Got to my place i wanted to go to. Windows and every thing worked fine when i last turned it off. I come back I started up the sho and the windows won't go down or up and the sunroof doesn't do any thing either. So i just drove home with the a/c on. Well i get home wanting to look at it but it was close to 12PM. So i turn my sho off and then turn it back on. But when i went to turn it back on I herd all some poping and cracking coming from my dash area. I didn't have the sho started yet. Just let it sit there for a few sec let the fuel pump prime. I look at my tach and it was like bouncing while i herd all of this poping and cracking from my dash. Well the windows and sunroof worked for a few secs.. I got my window to go partly down and then i rolled it back up thinking it was fixed. I went to my sunroof to see if that works and it did. I got it to roll back a few inches and then it lost power again. Today i'm out there looking at all the fuses and they are fine and i have pulled my drivers side switch out and cleaned every thing up and even switched the whole unit. (I had a spare one sitting around.) The windows and sunroof is dead as a door nail.. Does any body have any ideas.. I hate this i need to be working on my silver sho getting the 3.3L finished so that i can take her up to the convention and then i have this dumb crap!! :omg: When it rains it pours. But i need my red 95 working cause i drive it daily since my silver sho is down from the motor swap...

Well i switched them both with my good ones from the silver bullet and it did nothing. I still get this werid cracking sound when i first flip over the key and every thing works like for a few secs but the sunroof will only go back when i get that few sec of it working. I can't get it to close.. :bonk: This is really making me mad.. Any body else have any idea's could it be a the sunroof motor going out or is out? Or the sunroof switch. But i didn't think cars was wired like if one thing went out they all went out.. IDK let me know guys.. i'm getting desperate.

Thanks

I am having the same issues right now with my red 93. I tried replacing the relays, and those same fuses with no luck. I checked all the switch connections and still nothing. My sunroof is stuck open right now. I can close or open a window very slowly, but only by taking out the relay and putting it back in. I cant get the sunroof to close. The only thing I can think of it being is a short going to the relay.

Thats what mine is doing like on the money! Any body ever figure any thing out? I haven't really had time to mess with mine any more since i'm trying to get the 3.3L and the silver bullet back on the road.. :thumb:

Popping and crackling? My lowly knowledge of electronics says that popping and crackling means a lot of damage to circuits. Did you smell anything burning?

Well I was messing around with it today. And i pulled down the sunroof console. And when i did that. I noticed that the sunroof motor was hot. So I unhooked every thing from the sunroof ground, power to the motor and to the switch. Checked to see if the windows went up and down and they do. So it is something in the sunroof motor Or it is the switch or wireing. When the motors go out are they knowen to cut every thing out with them. Or would a bad sunroof switch do this?

Thanks

I just ran out to my car, and undid the whole sunroof cover.... when i disconnected everything, the windows and motor worked fine. With the console connections hooked up but the console hanging, the windows and sunroof worked.... but when the console is screwed in, i got sparks and no windows or sunroof..... so for now i just removed the whole panel... im planning on getting another panel to see if that will fix the problem for good. Oh and the green cable for the ground for the light in the console looked a lil burnt. let me know if you come up with anything else.

See i tryed that. And i still got nothing. As soon as i would hook up the sunroof power the windows would stopworking. And thats all i would hook up. I didn't hook up the consol power and ground. I even tryed another consol and switch i had laying around still nothing! So your saying as long as your consol is hanging every thing works fine but if you put it back up nothing works? I'm going to the junk yard tommorow to see if i can get my hands on another sunroof motor! Let me know if you find something else man.
