Just got my windows tinted at 5% today. It looks so bad *** and really bring the chrome trim out around the windows. I think it really visualy improved the look of my SHO even though I was not really expecting it to. My windows are so dark I love them (even though they are illegal in some states). I recomend anyone here getting their windows as dark as they can because it really looks awesome (although mine take a while to get use to because they are hard to see out at night). I also just bought a pair of silver SHO body filler decals that go in the SHO signs on the bumber and doors so I think that will look good too.

If visibility at night is not important to you that's great as it does look cool, for me I rather be able to see my surroundings at all times, I've had real dark tint not so dark tint and none at all, in the end visibility reigns for me.

Make that illegal in all states. Be prepared to catch a bunch of crap for dark windows if you live in a major city. Cops just love to pull people for stuff like that.

I have a quick question, when they put the tint on do they do all the way to the top edge of the window. Also do you have any pictures of your car after the tinting.

It all depends on what you like I guess. I have 4% limo tint on all my windows on my 93 and like it except at night. My 97 has 5% in the back and 15% on the front two which is more practical for everyday driving...I think tint is one of the best things you can do on a car, cant wait to see pics of yours. :dribble:

What I mean is-if you tint the windows without rolling it down to get the top edge, when the window is down the top edge will not have any tint on it. But the only problem is it seems that it would be very difficult to get the top edge. I just want to know how everyone else does it? If I take it into a shop to get it done will they do the top edge of the window that goes up into the channel of the door?

It's actually a safety issue. Police officers need to be able to see what is in your car, and what you are doing in your car. With some tint jobs it's hard to see in during the day, much less at night.....

Someone outta create a special light that could shine through tint for law enforcement. That would be cool because both parties would be happy. :salute:

Here's 15% tint all around with another layer of 5%(an after thought) on top of the 15% in the rear window on my old SHO, with my new one I will be going with 5% rear, 15% sides and 20% on the windshield.

I can understand the safety issue for police officers, but why should they act like there above law instead of enforcing it? There are only a few cities in my areas that I can think of that DON'T have tint on there patrol cars and I don't mean 50% or 35% they drive around with 5%-20% all around and some of supervisors even have it on there windshields.

Its a bigger deal in some states than others, I know in Nevada you dont even have to be able to see out of the back windows as long as you have side mirrors.....

I agree with those that say tint looks great on SHOs. I have 25% rear and 35% front. Looks great! And dramatically decreased the temperatures inside my car on hot days.

I also agree with those on the saftey issues. It is darn hard to back up at night, especially with no lights around (street lights). As for seeing out at night while driving straight, it isn't too bad as the other car lights come through just fine. Unless there is a really bright set of headlights following me, I don't need the dimmer on my rear view mirror. I do agree with PROPHET, visibility is super important.

I definitly know why you say that coming from pawtucket.(they all act like you are a lesser person than them ) But its the whole deal about them not being able to see what your doing in the car.

IDK if its true ,but I heard a RI state trooper got shot through a tinted window back in the early 90's. Ive lived off N main st.almost my whole life and never got pulled over in prov. As soon as I go to EP or pawtucket? Im rolling my windows down regardless of the weather  Nice car , im suprised ive never seen you around.
