You used to be able to get a copy of the window sticker, I have one for my 2013. That doesn't seem to work anymore. Anyone know how to either get a window sticker or at least what the options on a particular car using the VIN?

Johnbigdog...yes! I've worked in auto advertising my entire career....and if I mention, "Monroney label" outside of work...I get dumb looks. Great link to explain.
That does help since the reason I want to know is I'm looking for a SYNC3 module with navigation in the junkyards to do an upgrade to my car so as-built will come in handy once I find one.
I did save the old link I used. Google brings up some that don't work and a lot of forum chat saying they no longer work.
That gives model, engine, and color unless I am missing something.

I did get an answer for that car, non nav. Can't always get the VIN, some yards don't ship. I think I will pull the trigger with non nav and see how that works. If programming goes smoothly I can always swap it out later on.

The non nav APIMs have less storage space then a nav unit. You may be able to add navigation, but you would be better off with a nav unit. I' not aware of a difference in FCIMs.
So that would indicate a different part number. What I have been told you cannot change non- nav SYNC3 APIM to nav and that would be at least one reason why. SYNC2 you can as the hardware is the same as the maps are on the SD card. I ordered a non nav APIM and screen from a wrecker and all the ancillary parts from different sources and am going to try it out. If I get it running I will find an Nav APIM eventually and sell that one.

Yes. And I apologies. I was stuck on sync 3. I don' know about sync 2 if there is a differet module for nav, non-nav. I'm sorry for the confusion.
The MFT could have Nav activated with Forscan and the proper SD card. But Sync 3 cannot...you must buy the proper APIM if you want Nav. Which they can be found cheap at Junk Yards...you just have to do your research. Between my buddy and I, we found 4 in a matter of a week. We used 3 of them and I believe he still has one. Not sure if he wants to sell it or not.
Just make sure you get the proper screen, there are 2 different style screens. One fits the Taurus and the 2013-14 F150's and the other will not. The Taurus uses the screen with the indents on the sides. Although if you find a bad screen setup with a Nav APIM you can always change out the screen and not have to buy it all again.

from my prev looking up vins when a car get totaled or for a rebuild title ford drops the vin from the lookup. i think it has to do with warranty work
They seem to have clamped down on ETIS info. Does anyone who registered still get full details by VIN numbers? I registered and don't see a plugged nickel's worth

Ran the VIN posted and it starting coming up with details as before then screen went blank and I couldn't reload. Closed and went back in and now it will only only give me: Edge 2015-, 2.0L EcoBoost (240PS), White Platinum.
