Most likely is motor at this age. After that the other one I had to fix was a driver door master switch. Could be anything in between as power is routed to the master then to the door switch and motor. There is/are posts regarding taking out the window motor, taking it apart cleaning and re-lubricating it and putting it back good as new. I just put in a replacement motor but it's weird how the old dried out **** can make the thing inoperable. Try the search function and see what pops up

If you're still having an issue, and need a motor, it is part number E6DZ.54233V94.BRM, and should be about $113 with exchange at your local Ford dealership. The master window switch is available only if you have the power express down feature. That part number is F4DZ.14529.A, and should be about $117.

The really hard part of the job of replacing a door motor is removing the old motor.

After that, it is downhill all the way.

The old motor has old grease that becomes hard and stalls the motor. Simply take the motor gear off and dig out the old grease and put in some new grease. It is good to have some snap ring pliers to get the internal circlip out. You can detach the electric motor from the unit if you want, but it is OK to leave that alone. I have used some regular motor oil to soften the gunk in the worm gear area that I couldn't easily get out.

I use to think you had to reinstall the gear wheel in the exact spot it came from in its rotation, but you don't. Any drop in location will do.

Another thing to remember if you go junkyard searching, is that the motor unit from the diagonally opposite door is the same configuration as the one you are replacing, if you want to keep a spare, or if your location has already been taken.

yeah..I did several motors and the cleaning seems to be the main problem. I totally disassembled them with new **** they worked fine. Ruby pointed out that the motor does the same thing up or down, but there is a reverse in the pos and neg elec depending on which part of the switch you push. You can test it by reversing polarity..Good luck with them
