Has anyone tried putting wider tires on original wheels? 225/50/16?

I have Dunlop A2's on my stock slicers with the size 225/50. I like them a lot and the handling is much better. I also like the fact that the gear ratio is better for a bit more lower end.

I've got 225/55 which should have little effect on the speedo as the sidewall is closer to the stock 215/60.
