I'm in need of track tires (looking at hoosier A7)
But the only 2 available that might fit are 225/45zr15 and 205/45zr16
But have a recommended rim width of 7-8.5 inches, but the sho's are 6 inches wide
Could I "safely" run them even though the tires would be bulging?

Side note, only using these on my rear, thats why i was looking at 15" rims, possibly spacers

Not sure what your wheel size is. Here's my info on various alternatives. Download arrow top right:

Thanks for the list
Though the tire sizes I'm looking at aren't on there, guess I'll cross my fingers and hope they work still
Also my i'm using stock 16 or stock 15 (weaves)

I've added your tire sizes to the spreadsheet:

I would have thought that the tire with most grip would be the one with the largest footprint (i.e. diameter). Your choices aren't very good on that score. The best would be 225/65/15 and 235/60/16.

Largest footprint and smallest diameter actually because I'm so hard sideways that i often on the sidewall, and sidewalls have no grip at all

Also, i want mainly front grip, and on that note i am running 18×9 rims and toyo r888r 275/35R18 on the front
